What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

The Qashqai is back inside, so I gave it a Concours Nova Boost wipe down. When it was parked outside yesterday, I could see how dirty the steering wheel was, so I broke out the Duragloss Leather cleaning kit, Leather Cleaner 441, Leather Conditioner 221, with a soft bristle brush. Came up great, looks and feels better than new. View attachment 71812View attachment 71813

Maintenance washed the Jaguar and Ranger today.

I also got some time to re-organize the cabinet of happiness.......

Got me a FLEX light.
Now I can 100% confirm that all that polishing still left some swirls in the finish. Progress, not perfection.

Look into the diffuser cap from scangrip. Excellent for coatings

Just a thought. Do you think buying the diffuser and holding in top of my led shop light would work? Don’t coat enough to buy a new $150 light....

These types of lights are great (I went with the lower priced Astro Pneumatic), but are a double edged sword - you can now SEE all of the defects, but you can see ALL of the defects!

100% agree.
And when I see fewer defects under the surgery lighting, I am confident it will look stellar when finished. However, the truth-teller has the final say. That’d be the big lightbulb in the sky.

If I’m not working outside, pulling the vehicle out and doing a walk-around is a must. The car I did the other day looked fine in the overcast morning light, before I even washed it. It got sunny mid-morning and my eyes shed some tears.

Will be one of the best $150 you spend.

The light source may scatter too much light instead of focused through the diffuser

13 hours on a straight black 2020 impala. No before pics, I have been getting slammed the last few weeks.

It had less than three hundred miles on it, but two years of lot rot in North Carolina and Detroit. Swirls, scratches, fallout, sap.

Customer paid cash and brought her son along. He used to work in a body shop and they refused the car but gave me two days to see what I could do. They were happy with the car and we cashed the check.

I had to exercise some caution as I found a bunch of compound in the cracks of the rear glass and the cowl. It’s not perfect but it’s black now and not dark grey with freckles

Ordered up some of the newest CarPro coating products and will be trying them out on a new vehicle I just picked up. Photos to come this weekend!

Washed my truck last week. It’s coated with CQUK, and I wipe down with DG aqua wax every wash. I had some time to kill, decided what the heck. Grabbed the blackfire midnight sun from the cabinet.
Glow baby glow. A week later I can’t help but love me some good old fashioned nuba.
My truck is a ram, granite crystal metallic. It sure does pop.

I haven’t had any problems. I don’t frequent this place as much as I used to.
But I have 2 vehicles currently coated in CQUK. One being about 6 months and the other about a year and a half.
The other was a solid 2 years with gloss coat while I owned it. (I sold it to my brother he had it for about 6 months his gf crashed it, it WAS still beading )
I use it with every wash. Wasn’t aware I wasn’t supposed to apparently. Lol.
I love that stuff.

Available already?
Nice!

Does SiC need a top coat like Gliss?

Does not "need" a top coat. It's already a super slick product. IMO it seems to be formulated to fight waterspots, etc. like Gliss already. I plan on putting it on my wife's new vehicle over top of Cquartz UK as it's compatible. I'll keep you posted. My bottle is in-route so they say.
