What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I had my Arlo camera on my owl box a few years ago, and they used to go inside all the time at night...never any owls though...lol

A quick foam (BH Touchless at ~3%) and rinse at the self wash bay tonight. Car got pretty clean but some of the dirtier spots, like the A pillars, didn't get 100% clean. I'm sure it'll be dirty again in a few days anyway.

-Waterless wash with Wolfgang Uber.
-I found these tire applicators by 303 online and they’re an exact replica of the ones that used to come in the TW box.

-Refreshed my tires with 2 fresh coats of TW Tire Coating.

-Polished my emblems with the BriteMax Metal Twins. I need to hit the crest 1 more time [that’s what happens when you work in the dark]

-Installed my new license plate trim. Now the car’s ready for tomorrow’s Clippers vs. Lakers game. I’m going!

Catches the light good. Are those emblems actual metal or chrome plated plastic?

These products good for chrome bumpers that need a good clean up? If so link?

They’re excellent for tire coatings. Definitely reusable, It’s my 3rd or 4th time using the same 1. I just put it in a zip lock bag and put it in my cabinet. It would probably be better and they wouldn’t be crumbling if I rinsed it afterwards and allowed to air dry, but they’re so cheap it doesn’t matter but still reusable as is. Similar to how the Speed Master applicators act.

The reviews for these are either ok or people hate them because they say they fall apart or separate after 1 use but those must be people trying to use them on truck tires or something. It’s beginning to crumble as far as the ridges after 3 thorough uses.
[3 applications to all 4 tires] twice
[2 applications to all 4 tires] once
And this is what the 1st applicator looks like right now. It’s still plenty usuable.

They’re firm and keep their shape which is important with this TW coating because it’s an acrylic dye so if you slip and get it on your wheel good luck getting it off but these things allow you to be precise on low profile tires. I wouldn’t want to apply a tire coating with anything else.

As far as those emblems, they’re kinda funny. They’re definitely metal but not solid metal. They come from China and they’re fairly cheap to buy. 2 for $10.99. I bought 3

The 2 on the sail panels like in the picture oxidized heavily which is uncommon for chrome but as you can see by the center piece it somehow oxidized after about 1.5yr. Fortunately they can be polished back to a mirror finish. The 1 on the trunk didn’t oxidize anywhere near as bad as the 2 on the sides of the car. My guess is it’s either cheap metal or cheap chrome? Not sure.

These are the Britemax Metal Twins. I don’t think they’re easily found in the USA anymore. Last time I checked I couldn’t find them. AG used to carry them even had them in the outlet store practically giving it away. Phenomenal metal polish. Arguably the best I’ve ever used.

Looks great and I'm wondering if the cold temps hamper the 100% effectiveness of Bilt-Hamber Touchless/Auto-foam I've used it twice in barely above freezing and close to 40 and was VERY impressed, your results look great to me....it's a foam and rinse WITHOUT contact, IMMPRESSIVE as hell

Oh yeah. I wasn't disappointed, especially as it's new to me. May be able to improve next time. I'm sure a little RW and one towel could have taken care of the A pillars.

I was able to wash yesterday and get all the salt off the car. Very little protection left on surface. It's raining today but I want to wash with Reset, then Strip Down and apply an LSP to hopefully get me through the rest of winter. I picked up some rectangular coating applicators and was thinking of using these to apply the Hyper Seal I have. Or may just use Wet Coat. Gonna play it by ear.....

That's on my list. That or PA Cosmic Spritz. Trying to use what I have on hand at the moment. Even considered going back to Griot's 3 in 1 at one point.

The new CanCoat EVO looks solid with up to 12 months durability claims. Pro even better.

Gloss Coat is still tempting too being how easy it is to use and the new version should hold up very well.

Moonlight topped with Adam’s graphene has been good all winter. Got some flat spots on side but i think a good decon wash will take care of that.

I thought you had gloss coat in your car?

Cancoat topped with cosmic monthly and your good for the year. The Cosmic is not necessary monthly but why not.

If you top your car alot just go with the Cosmic. Amazing performance.

How old is your bottle of moonlight because I wish mine didn't crystallize so quickly a couple years ago.

I haven’t used since i did the car 6 months ago but on i ordered February 5, 2019. I’ll peak at it when i get home.

CanCoat definitely performs better but this lasted way longer. I keep it in a dark drawer inside house with rest of my LSP’s

Did a full wash with Reset followed by Poorboy’s World Strip Down followed by Optimum Paint Prep and then Hyper-Seal. Used the rectangular applicator pads this time to apply. Much more even application. I like using them. It did get a bit wet an hour later, but I confirmed today that it only technically needs 30 mins to cure.

Have you tried the 3x5 thin applicators? BudgetPlan1 likes them and got me to try them for coatings. I used them before for sealants and now it’s all I use.

I got a great buy at less then a $1 apiece so i bought $50
