Throwback Thursday Detail:

I don't usually do details during the week but with a time situation at hand, my friend needed his daily cleaned up quickly as he's stepped up a move-date whereby he's off to Irvine California! It's a throwback to 2010 featuring a Honda Accord finished in Polished Metal Metallic Gray with over 173k miles on the clock ��

Not wanting to go crazy we settled on my Basic Polish & Protect package with a 1-year ceramic coating. The car wasn't horrible, but it lives outside, had tons of fallout on it and the windows were etched pretty good with water spots. Add to it the front wheels were etched pretty badly with brake dust. All that's gone now and the car is looking sharp.

If mother nature allows, I hope to have some official pics in the morning but before I sign off for the night, here are a few sneak peek images.

If wheels and tire same size…. Think about switching? The silver wouldn’t look as bad in the winter.

The stock chromes are 17's and the black wheels are 18's...so no go. I do like the black wheels as far as the wider 9 inch wheel and offset. Its a better stace imo, but the black wheels are not in that great of shape...plus im a chrome wheel guy lol

Cleaned my mum's VW Amarok wheels and inner guard wash it Tuesday if i can get my hands on it.

Cleaned the old man's wheels and tyres with Garage Therapy one wheel shampoo,
and dressed with Garage Therapy tyre serum.

A friend asked if I could get the sanding scratches and rotary marks out of his recently painted project truck. I did a two step correction with Meguiars 105/microfiber pads and Sonax Perfect Finish with black foam pads. I only took a couple of before photos...I’m always anxious to get started polishing and forget photos. Turned out nice.

Quick wash with Griot's ceramic wash & coat. I think next time I use that I'll add a 3rd bucket with a more powerful soap to hit the dirtier spots first. Definitely struggle getting the car 100% clean with wash & coat.

Yeah I've only used Griot's Garage Ceramic wash and coat when the car was dusty, like a quicker WW. Maybe try it after a contact wash as a way to add protection to the car through your foam gun or cannon

Car looks great as usual and btw a couple weeks ago I saw your car with the rarely spec'd body kit (if you can call it that). It looks really good too, subtle enough to not interrupt how good lookin' the car is

Thanks. I didn't notice some of the tar/grime until I was already washing it. The girlfriend's car needs a serious wash so I'll probably break out the Reset for that and then touch up my car. Maybe try wash & coat in the SPTA sprayer/foamer on her car after the Reset.

I'd like to suggest trying some Bilt-Hamber Touchless for pre-wash duties, I think you'll REALLY like it

Earlier this week I finished up with the Lincoln Limousine. I wound up doing a 2 step on it. Megs D300 w/microfiber pads followed by Optimum Hyper Polish w/LC Flat Foam White pads.

Turned out real nice. Polished all the chrome too.

It was a chore trying to keep the dust off this black behemoth during the entire process. Black paint certainly is a different animal.

Knocked off 2 weeks of filth on the ZR2. Normal wash/interior. Finally a nice Saturday. Had the stuff out, so gave her Escape a quick wash/vac. 3.5 hours between both. Was tired after. Working 10's at work will do that! Figured it was time to move my stuff to the main part of the garage also. It was nice to get some fresh air and release some stress.

ONR rinseless wash, followed by a wipe down with Griot’s BOSS Detailer for a little extra pop.

Decided to try out a couple products from my last unboxing post. Polished my hood with Griot’s BOSS Perfecting Cream and BOSS Perfecting pad. Then protected with Griot’s Ceramic 3-in-1 wax. All I can say is WOW! Big difference from the polish step I was used to doing, which was Meg’s Ultimate Polish on LC White pad. The hood turned out immaculately. Brought it out in the sun after working in the garage. Super happy with the results. Other than random pitting from rocks/stones towards the front of the hood, there wasn’t a defect to be found!

Quick springtime refresh on a previous 911 I ceramic coated. Also a clean/polish/coating of summer wheels prior to installation.

CarPro SiC coated

I think one coat is what I’ll stick with in the future. I got some ghosting spots after applying the second coat. Had to spot apply more SiC and quickly buff to clear up the finish. Not fun.

Car is brand new. Made the job a bit easier.
