What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Decided to clean all the glass, and coat the windscreen. While I had it inside I also vacuumed up all my lunch crumbs, there's no lunch room at work and I refuse to eat off a packing bench. Also cleaned the vinyl floor, used ONR I have in a spray bottle.

Cleaned all the glass with Krystal Klear Bubblegum Blitz, then went over the windscreen with Autoglym Glass Polish, next I wiped it over with Carpro Eraser. I then coated the windscreen with Glaco "Chemical Liquid Super Wiper. It's a lot like Rain-X, but seems to last longer, but then, we haven't had much rain recently.

Yeah but at that dilution plus adding a soap makes it a lot less cost efficient than BH products.

Yeah that's 100% true, so I'll be curious how the finished DIY Detail products actually stacks up against Bilt-Hamber Touchless and Auto-foam, they've got their work cut out for sure!

I'll say this though, the g/f's Cruze was 100% CLEAN between this mix for the pre-wash and touch-free carwash, came out great

Did the Griot's Garage Brillant Shine snow foam/remaining DIY Detail All Clean pre-wash and touch-free carwash to get ready for a car meet this morning...except my buddy got the time wrong, it was 7:30 P.M. not a.m. but atleast the EN is cleaned up for the trip to the dealership in a bit for the horn replacement and possible oil change.

Living in Chicagoland a horn is VERY important and hopefully the engine internals will be as clean and protected as the outside is

Quick spray off at the DIY and then rinseless with Griots Brilliant Finish.
Pic of after DIY showing the remaining film and then after rinseless.
Garage was still a bit cold, so I had a bit of icing as I washed/dried.

My black 300 was looking almost white from the salt and brine they put all over the roads here :( I rinsed it off real good at the car wash (-5*C here) and brought it home and did a rinseless ONR wash on the body. Turned out pretty good and no more salt, ugh...

True and if I remember correctly the BH needed a rinseless after.

Yeah but I'll say this last wash her car wasn't as dirty as the last Bilt-Hamber pre-wash though, plus I used 4 oz of product whereas here I used 8 oz of All Clean and 1 oz of Incredible Suds.

Now I wish I had some more All Clean for weeks worth of salt/dirt/muck, oh well I'll just wait for DIY's official pre-wash in about a year

Tried Griot's Snow Foam in the SPTA foamer at a self wash bay. I was using 2 oz for the 60 oz capacity. It was way too dry. Unfortunately, the SPTA doesn't have anything to adjust for foam density. I further diluted it when I got home and was able to get it closer to the right consistency to try for next time.

Car isn't really much cleaner than it was before but I'll try again at the different dilution before passing judgement.

How do you feel about the SPTA thus far? I was just looking at the larger IK foam sprayers but wondering if I can justify going to pump vs what I get out of SPTA. Admittedly it's been awhile since I've pulled out the SPTA but given the stretch of continuous bad weather, could be time to go without the pressure washer awhile.

After a few weeks of abuse, and too cold to wash, finally, got a wash/detail in today. 43 in PA this afternoon. Normal Maintenace wash. Finished with TWHS wet wax. Flooded the undercarriage. Another coat of Wolfstiens tonneau cover protectant. And back to DG 253 for the tires. I was really impressed with the TW ceramic tire coating for its durability. But I forgot how good the DG looks!

Generally positive. Since I got an electric plant sprayer, it will likely never see use as a sprayer again. But I'd rather use the SPTA than a pump up foamer. If I was looking at a larger foamer like the big IK, I'd get one with a schrader valve and a rechargeable compressor.

Curious how the Griot's cordless foamer will compare tho.

I can't say enough good things about my IK Foam Pro 12 w/ it's battery powered compressor "hack". I see IK now has a built-in battery powered air compressor now for over $250, I've got $180 tied up in mine FWIW

Damn Opie. I’d recommend the Rupes coarse wool pad instead of the sandpaper you’re using. :D

Haha believe it or not this truck could use some sanding to remove all the deeper sratches! I finished cutting it last night with rupes blue coarse twisted wool pads on the flex rotary, its really cleaning it up but still good bit of deeper RIDS. This truck has only seen a pole brush for washing since being painted 10 yrs ago

Tried the Rag Co UBS today for the first time. I’ll keep at it, not sure what to think. Used ONR. First time washing the Navigator since I put on the CanCoat Evo. Man is that hydrophobic! It was fun watching the water dance off the paint. Tried Gyeon Ceramic Detailer as a fraying aid. Seemed to work well.

Ran the EN through the touch-free wash and once home I noticed the Michelin X-Ice's need a good cleaning, so tomorrow sometime the TWHS Hyper Foam will be used, stuff is AWESOME on tires especially
