What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

It allowed met to air dry the car which I always try to do.

This is why I like Wet Coat and similar sealants. My least favorite part of working on unprotected cars is drying. The water just sits there even when I put my blower on turbo. A quick application of Wet Coat and the water rolls right off of the paint. Top it off with Gyeon Ceramic detailer as a drying aid when I mop up the remaining drops of water and it saves me a good bit of time.

I gave the FJ a wash, but it's warm, 85f, with strong winds gusting up to 30mph today, so I didn't want to do a typical 2B wash. I broke out the pressure washer, but it's not a good day for foam, so I put some NV Snow in the detergent reservoir on the pressure washer, and sprayed the soapy water all over, and a bit under, then rinsed it off before it dried. Moved it into the garage and after removing a couple of stubborn bird bombs, dried it off with Meg's Quikwax.

303 Touchless Sealant is a great product, do you guys get the 16 oz bottle or the larger one (sorry about the measurement useage)

Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

Looks like we only get the 473 ml / 16o z size.

Yeah, that's what I have, and when I picked it up to check, I realised that it's almost empty. So, do I get the same, go back to Wet Coat, or try out Bowden's version......

Sent from my motorola edge 20 fusion using Tapatalk

I'm done with Bowden's, save for Leather Love. Stupid, smutty names to cover up a lack of performance.

303 Touchless is currently on clearance at Repco for $16...............Wet Coat is at $26.........an easy choice then.

The reason why I like strong hydrophobic products is for air drying. In the summer with Can Coat, I'd rinse and blow dry the car in under 5 minutes without touch the paint.

While the spray/rinse products don't offer durable protection, they do add quick hydrophobicity to the surface which allows to air dry and not dry with a towel, which is a plus.

The spray and rinse products have come a long way with the advent of ceramic and graphene. Earlier this year I did a base coat of TWHS Flex wax. Last 2 or 3 washes I used it as a spray and rinse application before drying. The results are amazing!

Full detail on the wife’s ride. 2BM with Reset, Blackfire clay mitt, Blackfire AIO polish, WDGPS as LSP. Hyperdressing on the trim, 303 aero on the tires.

It’s hard to make white “pop” but it sure feels slick! At a minimum, it’s the cleanest ride at her work now .

I played it forward for my neighbor who brought a water outlet to my pressure washer station. I did a decon followed w/clay towel and then 3D speed. Use Cera trim Ceramic trim on all the plastic.( Love it!)
I really have been extremely happy using my gravity spray gun on truck tires. I can crank out 4 tires in 1/3 the time it would take me to do one by hand!

The Qashqai was unfortunately parked under a tree for a while yesterday, it came back a sticky mess. I noticed it had 30 or 40 spots of gooey sap like stuff all over the upper surfaces. I tested a few different things to remove it, a couple of different QDs, then an APC, they just seemed to smear it a little. Then I tried Carpro Eraser, bingo, spray it, let it soak for 10 seconds or so, one or two wipes and it's gone.

Well, if I'm going to be wiping all those spots with Eraser, then I'm going all in:

Foamed it with Carpro Lift, then a lot of high pressure rinsing. Which actually seemed to remove all the gooey sap, but I'm not that trusting.

Dried it then wiped it over with Eraser, now I'm sure it's all gone.

Used both my Ryobi and Shinemate ROs to work it with Carpro Essence.

Waited a couple of hours, had dinner walked the dogs, then applied NV Lustre, which is where I'm at now, in another hour and a half (10:30pm) I'll go back out and top it with NV Jet.

spent a lot of time cleaning the front and rear wheels on my new Harley

washed with McKee's N-914, prepped them and coated in Gyeon Rim Q2....lots of little nooks and crannies...not a hug fan of spoked wheels when it comes to cleaning, coating them to make them easier to keep clean, and they look slick :)

I even dressed the little strip of leather, you can see i slopped over a bit, but I buffed that eventually

I did a little bit of spot correction on the paint last night and put the first coat of Polish Angel's Glass Coat on it, it'll get another coat tonight

I'll get pics of the whole thing up soon, it's turning out really great

So I got off of work early and ran the EN through the touch-free wash and headed home. Once home I decided to add some "additional" protection while drying the car. For this I reached for Nv Lustre, AMAZING product

I also used TWHS Inside Job for the engine bay, topped up the tires with DIY Detail tire dressing and vac'd out the car and sprayed some CG's Signature Scent in the interior

Rinseless washed the Mav and the Navigator as well as my friends Jeep. Also used the Griot’s Ceramic on her SUV. No pictures.

Lance Mark, let’s see the new Harley! Unless I missed it somewhere.

I did a sanity wash on my Jeep. First one in months.

Just clayed it and tomorrow I’ll do a light polish then Adam’s Graphene spray. Bought it during a sale and want to give it a shot. Haven’t had a lot of free time lately so very happy to get it cleaned up.

So my g/f's Cruze was OVERDUE for a wash, so once her and my daughter were in bed I headed to the touch-free wash this evening. I started by pre-treating the tires & wheels with Bilt-Hamber Surfex @3:1 and then pre-washing the body with the IK Foam Pro 12 filled with Griot's Garage foaming surface wash and their Brillant Shine snow foam (finished off the surface wash) Because it's like 50 degrees I let it dwell a bit longer and come morning I'll see how it looks, I mean it's going to be better and to her it will be great but probably not to me.

I plan on doing a Griot's Garage Brillant Shine rinseless wash on the EN sometime tomorrow, the warmer days are numbered sadly, so gotta get out there with some "Therapy washes"

So after taking my daughter to trunk n treat this afternoon I decided to wash the EN

Check out the old Caddy Ric

Once home I decided to layer the Nv Lustre I just added yesterday, big surprise, huh Today's choice was an "oldie but a goodie"...Zaino CS. Now it says to prime the pad once and then 1 spray per panel and let it dry, well, I don't trust the process and ended up leveling it out myself with a seperate mf towel

I also decided to add a coat of TWHS graphene spray tire dressing to the Pirelli's, last application of the year for them as the winter set-up goes on next Friday🫣

I'm very happy with the "candy-like" finish this leaves behind. Because the weather is mild I've gotta layer while I can

A few new products used today:

Labocosmetica Primus prewash
P&S Undressed
The Final Details Soap and Wheel/Tire Cleaner (small, veteran owned company in Illinois) - good guy and great prices - no complaints with the products

Apex BC3 - extremely slick!
Gyeon Tire Express

All finished around 12pm with plenty of weekend left (but not without a battle with the Colorado sunshine still)

Finally got my hose reel set up. Now I’m one step closer to having my garage became a one stop shop for all detailing and lawn care needs. The Ryobi is temporary. I’m hoping that there is a decent Black Friday sale on the Active 2.0.

Edit: it’s not crooked. It’s just a crooked rushed picture.

After the rain cleared, did the weekly Maintenace wash on the truck late afternoon. Finished with flex wax as a rinse wax. And finished up my Griots ceramic tire shine. Now it's back to my stash of Duragloss #253 for the tires. I did enjoy the look and performance of the Griots. Once I go thru my current stash of #253, I will most likely go back to a ceramic tire Shine. They are impressive. And last long.
