What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Congrats on the foam cannon solution...I don't know what to say about the glass cleaner, I only really have 1, a gallon of the Meg's Detailer line one that I've been working on for...almost 20 years? I find the towel and technique make a lot more difference than the cleaner. I do have a bottle of Optimum Opti-Glass Clean & Protect that I use on the outside of windshields sometimes.
I think you're correct, towel and technique play a bigger part than the actual cleaner. Some of those are exterior only, some are tint safe and can do the interior, 2 didn't cost me anything, samples sent by a friend, and 1 is a bottle of windscreen washer additive diluted as glass cleaner test, and it works better than a lot of the other name brands.

After I took the shot I realised one of them was leaking, I could smell it, I had to rebottle the Angelwax Vision, when I tried to pull the label off to put on the new bottle, there were holes in the bottle behind the label, the label was all that was holding it in, eaten from the inside out.

First wash of 2024

Griot's Garage Brillant Shine snow foam pre-wash used. My sharp eye has spotted some traffic film towards the bottom, so I might go out and do a "Sanity" RW before the Michigan/Bama game

So I decided to try out the recently released Griot's Garage Ceramic Rinseless Wash. My g/f's Cruze was legitimately DIRTY, so a great test for it

The directions are just like their regular RW, 1oz per gallon and I did 4oz to 3.5 gallons in the solution bucket, my 2nd bucket was for rinsing, grit guards in both...ofcoarse! The pre-treating was handled by my IK sprayer. I used my DIY Detail RW sponge for wash media. I like it because it's black on one side, red on the other, great for glass and body work. The remaining solution I used on her tires & wheels, they too come out great

Even though it was cold (screen shot provided) it dried easily, well, using the "throw and drag" method using one of my Gaunlets. The tires & wheels had me using a designated mf towel

Because this product is infused with ceramic I'll be curious to see how clean up is next time I wash, surely it's not anything major but should last a wash or two, leaving the Nv Lustre to continue doing its thing. Speaking of that, it's still beading after a couple monthes and this is from using the touch-free wash & pre-washes, sometime it's Bilt-Hamber Touchless, Pure:est alkaline snow foam, etc

Wait--so that RW turned her tires from that brownish to that nice matte black? The only wash I've seen do that is Ech2O.

Well, it's whatever was applied last time and sadly I can't remember what I used but it's a couple weeks old for sure

Wow... Michigan tried a lot of ways to lose that one! Great game

Took my daughter to her grandparents house this afternoon, well over 100 miles round trip, so before we got home I ran it through the touch-free wash. I didn't use a pre-wash this time, just simple "Sanity Wash"

Once home I used my Griot's Garage Ceramic Speed Shine, mixed with 303 Ceramic Detailer and some "other stuff" I can't remember and it does work VERY well

Being an OSU alum, rooting for Michigan was somewhat unnatural but ‘Bama can do that to ya.

If there is one thing I've learned living in Ohio. No matter how our teams do life seems the same the next day. Thankfully. I can see how that feels unnatural for you though hahaha

So I had an early day off of work today and did an "Insanity wash", meaning I know it's going to snow a bit over the weekend and "maybe" something a bit more this coming Tuesday, we'll see

I ran the EN through the touch-free wash and drove home and got to it. I used Bilt-Hamber QD diluted @3:1 to go over the wet spots and then the rest of the EN with a 2nd Eagle edgeless microfiber. For the tires and wheels I used the same Bilt-Hamber QD for the wheel faces and Griot's Garage 3 in 1 Tire/Wheel/Mat for the tires. I sprayed the Griot's Garage product on all 4 tires and let it sit (trying to break down/level their Black Shine I used last week, what a mess) I then turned to the Bilt-Hamber QD to make the wheels look really nice and simply wiped away the Griot's Garage product, not the best way to remove but good enough

Now it sits there all glossy and somewhat "boosted up"

I noticed my spare key wasn't working, I haven't used it for maybe 6 months, so I thought I'd open it up to see what battery it needs. That's disgusting, so I sprayed some cleaner on it and used an old toothbrush to clean the gunk out. I know most of it is probably my gunk, but some of it would be from the original owner, and I didn't even wear gloves to do it. And yes, there are some broken plastic tabs in the second shot, 13 year old plastic is bound to be a bit brittle. This is the first time I've ever had to replace a battery in any car remote.

I'm not sure I've seen one like that--here in the US we have a fob with the buttons on it, I mean I guess maybe we have ones like yours here, but I've never seen one. The cars with proximity keys today are usually just a fob, with the "key" part for emergencies tucked into the fob somehow, either sliding out or rotating out. And 13 years is a crazy long time, I would say about 5 years is common IME.
