Did you use a spray coating like Griot's or Mequiars offers to seal them up

Oops I did it again.

After my ordeal with the world’s filthiest BMW I decided to help my BIL out and coat his minivan. He’s got a severely disabled son that requires 24/7 attention so the van has been neglected. I figured that a coating would allow him to at least do a touchless wash with his Auto Foam and leaf blower and get the vehicle fairly clean and only take a few minutes. When his son starts back to school in August the coating will make hand washing quicker as well and now little man can ride around in style and his wife no longer has to hang her head in shame every time she drives the van. Seven hours later and a layer of Mohs, which was a breeze to install outdoors, and here we are. It looks a tad bit cleaner if I do say so myself.

I did a vacuum and wipe down of the front of the interior of the TX and cleaned the nav screen and gauge cluster plastic

I used my horsehair vacuum brush and followed up with a puffy makeup type brush on the nav screen and gauge cluster

I followed that with a super light wipe down with a super plush 500 gsm towel barely dampened with Megs Quik Interior Detailer, followed by a gentle wipe down using a dry section of the towel

I used the same product and an interior towel to wipe down the steering wheel, shift knob, all the piano black, etc

I hit the inside glass with Stoners and a low nap pearl weave towel and it was grabby as heck so I got one of my waffle weave glass towels that I thought I hated and grabbed my precious remaining bottle of Einzett Scheibenklar Glass Cleaner and it made all the difference in the world as far as a smooth cleaning experience

The car still smells new so I am guessing all the vinyl, plastics, etc are all outgassing and really left a heavy film on the glass

Sorry no pics, but my dog was out there with me and will back up my story

I honesty don’t think it’s been washed since it was bought. They didn’t have time and my SIL heeded my advice and, even though she was tempted, never took it to an automatic wash. It was filthy but outside of the scrapes from loading and unloading the wheelchair, the paint was about as good as you could hope. Little to no scratches and no swirls which saved me some time. I used McKee’s prep polish and went straight into coating.

Nextzett is selling that if you need more nextzett Windscreen Clear - Concentrated Glass Cleaner

Always good to have an alibii.

I plan to buy some Nexzett and even give the Nexzett iteration of Cockpit a try

That was my favorite interior cleaner for years and I absolutely loved the smell

I read that the Nexzett version smelled like urinal cakes

I think even Matt Morman said something about the smell being significantly changed

I guess I’ll just have to try it

Einzett Scheibenklar Glass Cleaner used to be my favourite glass cleaner for years, I'm sure I still have my last bottle of it on the shelf somewhere, almost completely empty. The place I bought it froze my account due to inactivity, that was about all I bought there, I'd probably see what they've got on special, but it's too much effort to unfreeze it.

Speaking of the urinal cake smell, I stuck two up under someone's desk where I used to work, he was very annoying, so his cubicle smelled like a toilet for months, they last forever if you don't get them wet.

That's hilarious

At the courthouse they used urinal mats that were infused with color and scent and when the color was gone, so was the scent

They would rotate the scent and honestly, none of them were really objectionable and a couple were downright pleasant

When we moved offices they switched to the mats as well, and you're right, they actually smell quite pleasant.

I know the Nextzett website says something about changing the formulas over the years for various reasons, perhaps that accounts for the smell. While we're talking urinal smells, I can't stand the cherry urinal cake smell of the Griot's Heavy-Duty Wheel Cleaner...it's their attempt to cover the hair-perm smell of the active ingredient. While we're at it, I used my Stoner Odorless Iron Remover the other week on some spots on my better half's car, and I have to give it a thumbs up.

I’m sure compliance is a huge headache as far as formula changes goes

Every time someone in California sneezes some chemical goes on the chopping block

I picked up a sample of CG snow foam to experiment with.

It's been 90+ three days in a row, couldn't take it anymore...had to wash the EN

It's below 90 and the suns down pretty good, so I was ok but decided to do a quick foam/dwell/rinse/drying aid and call it a day

For the wash I decided on a combo of 3 oz Griot's Garage Foaming Surface Prep and 1 oz of Adam's graphene carwash soap, came out great, REALLY great! I didn't flush it with free flowing water this time because it's still warm but wanted to use a drying aid...Griot's Garage Best of Show spray wax...WINNER

I had ZERO issues with drying, no streaks, no nothing but dry and GLOSSY paint, smooth as hell too. I hit the jams and tires and wheels with it too, all done and time for the shower and bed

Btw while I was washing the EN I got an alert, Willie Mays passes away at 93, arguably in the top 5 to have played the game, RIP

Did you do a RW following the foam?

You said you didn’t use free flowing water so I’m confused how you got the foam off, especially at those temps

??

I just rinsed it off with the hose to keep more beads this time as it's so warm because it still dried pretty easily since it's still hot.
