What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I was at Walmart to get some motor oil so browsed the detailing section. It sure has expanded. Chemical Guys claims a significant part of the shelf space. The CG product labeling is "loud" but somewhat hard to read at a glance.

Mothers has lost a lot of shelf space with just a few products.
Agree their detailing section has expanded. They have a few decent products but a lot of inferior stuff. Their microfiber stuff is subpar. They do have some Chemical Guys and Turtle Wax stuff. Not a big fan of many of the Chemical guys products. Guess their stuff would do in a pinch.

Another spot that is improving their detail game is Harbor Freight. Yesterday i went there to get a Grants 6 inch finishing pad which was on sale from $9.95 to $8.00, so $2.00 off. Of course they had none of that item in stock. So i grabbed the same pad in 5 inch ( still $9.95 ) and asked if i could get the same price on the 5 inch pad. The answer was a big NO. What is the point of having an item on sale if you have no stock of that item? The employee did inform me that another Harbor Freight store that was 30 miles away had the sale item in stock. In some instances they still operate a Mickey Mouse operation.

Rain Check?

Your comments before sounded very familiar.

I see what you mean. I get the feeling that more and more people are starting to see through his story once they are able to stop for a moment and think for themselves. Is that why you came up with “verify the source”?

Small window of time, dirty TAOS from this morning means CLEAN TAOS

Today I chose Griot's Garage Ceramic Rinseless Wash, almost finished it up and I was kinda surprised at the dirt it pulled (sorry, no pic) The ADS EZ Beads got a little boost from this ceramic RW and it kinda needs it, still beading but it's nearing it's end but at almost 3 monthes, 3 winter monthes, I'm impressed with their spray on, hose off product! In about 2 weeks we're going to redo it @ The Bays Wheeling, I plan on the 3pH Labocosmetica wash and another coat of ADS EZ Beads. When going into winter I'll apply the ADS Phobics, holding off polishing the paint right now

I'm sure having some protection on the car helps with that. There were some spots on my gf's car that were stubborn but that car had zero protection on it. It certainly wasn't terrible. Drying the car afterward was tougher but I'm sure next time will be easier.

Drying your g/f's car was hard with Griot's Garage Ceramic RW

The water wasn't beading up yet when I dried it. I guess it needed to cure yet? I'm sure if I had hit it with a hose, it would have beaded right up.

Planning on staying with griots rw in the future or will you get something else?

Cleaned & prepped my tires to test the Mr. Cartoon Tire Coat on my Vogues. Polished off those pesty waterspots from using ceramic on my wheels with steel wool.

Looking pretty damn good. Ready to apply the coating now.

Application of the tire coating turned out to be quite interesting.. Initially I thought it was headed for disaster as I had somewhat overlooked doing a surgical prep on the black sidewall part of the tire and when I applied onto the black part it turned my foam applicator black which is a scary sight to see because that’s the last thing you want to see when trying to apply onto a whitewall.

Fortunately I started with the white part.. Interesting thing was during the 2nd application using a clean side of the applicator, it no longer turned black because the coating had formed a true layer over the rubber. That’s a promising sign and makes me think this might just work.

Wheels still look like they could be sold as new stock... (y)

You'll have monthes of service there Ric but if it doesn't quite work out ADS Ghost is ready when you are, here's almost 3 monthes in, no re-applying anything:

Some images seem to have a lot of image enhancement - color saturation, etc

After my Ryobi sprung a nice leak during a weekend of spring green up prep, I took the plunge since I already had a Lowe’s gift card. This is absolutely overkill for rinseless washing but it works far better than my IK Multi 12. I can’t say for sure but the fan tip may very well have 350 PSI of pressure. I put my hand in front of the nozzle and the stream had a little bite to it. I even had a little foaming action from the DIY RW at the normal dilution ratio. Cut my pre-wash time in half with the increased flow rate. I’ll give it another try tomorrow on my wife’s SUV but so far I like it. It’s at the pricier end for backpack sprayers but the quality is much better than Ryobi’s which has always been a consumer grade favorite.
