What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Well I got in a touch-free wash after work today, certainly had to use the squeegee on all the windows before hand, something that MUST BE DONE when entering a truely dirty car through a touch-free wash as the area that the wipers don't touch NEVER come clean

I'll hit the touch-free wash before work tomorrow before work too, even if I am going to The Bays Wheeling Saturday afternoon. Speaking of that, it's going to be a good decon pre-wash, probably Bilt-Hamber Touchless as I haven't used it in a while and 2BM wash will be Feynlab PURE wash as it's getting low. The LSP I'm leaning towards to Collinite Beadcoat, gotta try it finally, although Feynlab Ceramic Spray Detailer is staring at me, same for ADS Ceramic Spray Sealant...maybe next month

My fairly next door neighbor gets his cars washed every two weeks.

I decided to see what they actually did. The man and women arrived in a plain white van. I suspect they do more than car detailing. They got out a pump sprayer and appeared to spray the vehicles and then wiped them down. Then they got out the pressure washer and sprayed and then dried the vehicles.
Seems very out of order. Blast with pressure washer then a rinseless or waterless would work...

Sounds like maybe they were using soap in the pump sprayer, and then the PW to rinse. To paraphrase Walter Mitty (the Ben Stiller version), "you've got to make water choices" when you're a mobile detailer.

Can I be happy that I did NOT have a car washed today? I think I finally found the trick after two successful visits... stick the hang tag in a way they must move it to drive it. I do this a I turn the key over and mention "no wash please" - this dealership not only writes it all over the paperwork, they move the hang tag on the mirror to show they get it

It's the little things!

And thanks to one of the AGO Esoteric expert members, I've got enough of these tags to cover every seat if needed.

So even though I've got time booked at The Bays Wheeling tomorrow, I still ran the EN through the touch-free wash this morning before work, this time though I had time to dry it as our delivery truck was blocking the entrance

After work I have some time to kill as a new oven is being delivered, didn't feel like making small chat with the landlord and watching people come in and out with an appliance (I'm weird like that) so I decided to go to the park, find some shade and do some interior sprucing up

I started with a simple vac of everything, the drivers floor mat is always the worst but it's because of all the rain and whatnot, no problem. Next up was ADS Pilot on just about everything in the interior, really, REALLY like using this product, from the ease of use, how it finishes and even using the bottle and sprayer, not to mention the smell...pure joy! I like it so much it's one of the few products I bought a gallon of it, I mean I've gotta maintain 2 cars, a 3 year old and brand new one, so this gets used on a semi regular basis

Looking forward to The Bays Wheeling appointment tomorrow, new product testing day...stay "tuned"

Exterior of the trailblazer....did a quick wash of my neighbors truck for him while I had all the stuff out.

Damn that thing is poppin!

I went to the coin op early today to give the Ram Promaster a quick rinse prior to waterless washing it. I started off by scrubbing the tires clean and finishing it off dressing the tires & all the plastic trim.

I was able to confirm 1 thing for sure and that’s that those power washers at the coin op are on another level! I have no doubt they’d absolutely crush a Kranzle anyday of the week!

Why doesn’t Matt Moreman run his little tests on those? Oh that’s right, because he can’t sell them…
I wish someone would test the numbers on those bad boys because they’re friggin beast! I wish I had that set up at home.

As I was driving home I couldn’t help but spot these 2 clowns back 2 back.. Just look at this tragedy of 2 paintjobs. This is what happens when you maintain with Dawn every week.lol.

I have about half a dozen of these from Bowden's Own.

I made a custom one that said "Please do not apply tyre shine"
For when the car's go in for etiher a wheel alignment or fresh rubber.

Because the stuff they use is like 10000000000 silicon jelly gel

Finally got to hand wash the FJ, it must be over 2 months, and the last one was just with ONR. Started with Bowden's Wheely Clean on the wheels, almost no bleed off so that was good. Next was TWHS Hyper Foam on the tyres, plenty of browning as expected. Then straight to the 2B wash with Reset, no foaming today, high winds would leave most of it not on the car. Noticed while washing that some horizontal surfaces have no hydrophobic action left, so I dried with Ech2o to put a little protection on it till I put some more NV Jet on it later this week. Dried the glass with Clarify Phobic, although I later had to go over it again with Garage Therapy One Glass as there was some streaks visible later, when I was giving the interior a going over with Nextzett Cockpit Premium.

The funny thing is, despite all the hype, of the four Kranzle's he sells, three of them are weak as p.ss! The 1322, which is exclusive to his store, he sells it with the following tag line.................... "The Best Pressure Washer on Earth". The pathetic flow is why he does a tandem 1322 setup.

K1622 - Measured Flow: 1.6 GPM, Measured Pressure: 1450 PSI
K1122 - Measured Flow: 2.0 GPM, Measured Pressure: 1050 PSI
K1322 - Measured Flow: 1.9 GPM, Measure Pressure: 1010 PSI

The fourth model is KWS700, which is a proper commercial model. However, it doesn't have total stop, is extremely loud and that pressure rating is too much for cars. I'd say something like this is what powers a commercial car wash, as in just a electric motor and a pump with no fancy case or badges.

KWS700 - Rated Flow: 3.3 GPM, Rated Pressure: 2400 PSI

Now compare to the Euro/AUS spec models -

K1152 (1122) - 2.64 GPM, 1885 PSI
KHD7 - 1.85 GPM, 1740 PSI
KHD10 - 2.64 GPM, 1800 PSI

The EU/AU spec commercial model actually has total stop and flows an extra gallon per minute.

WS-RP1000TS - 4.23 GPM, 3190 PSI

And yes, I'm having a go at OG here, the concept is wearing thin for me, especially after the latest $20 clear spray bottles that turn brown within hours....................................despite him telling the world they were finally perfect.

I’ve worked with the Kranzle K1622 a handful of times and I was expecting alot more from it. I’m sure it’s built to last but it doesn’t even come close to approaching the coin op and is more like the Ryobi than anything, which for costing an extra 1k I think is pretty underwhelming.

It’s funny that those are the measured numbers but they actually claim to have slightly higher numbers at 1.7gpm / 1600psi

I honestly don’t see how it’s worth an extra $1,000

As far as those bottles, they’re clear like the MJJC V2? Or frosted clear bottles? Either ways $20 per bottle is ridiculous. It at least better come with a sprayer but still why pay that price per bottle?

I didn't analyze all those numbers but isn't part of it that it's rebuildable, while the cheap ones are throwaway?
At $89 for a Ryobi with the same specs, I'd rather throw the away and keep replacing them honestly.
I still have a 1600 Ryobi that is 4 years old and I use it 10 times a month and it still works.
It was $68 on a Black Friday sale...

I figured someone would say that. Isn't there a Kranzle that is $6-700? I mean I buy the cheap ones and throw them away too. I think using yours 10 times a month probably makes it last longer, honestly. I think letting them sit wet is part of the problem.

For US customers, the 1622 only exists because Matt has exclusivity on the 1322. Because other retailers wanted to sell the same thing, Kranzle modified the 1622 with total stop as well as being able to run on a 15-amp circuit (the 1322 needs a 20-amp), which makes it better suited to older homes or for mobile detailers running off a generator.

It's that lack of amps which limits to full potential of the 1622, that's why its very lean, and why you can't see the appeal...........................I'd be the same. In Australia, because we have higher voltage circuits, we can run these machines at full potential, hence the higher flow rates. In this case, the extra spend buys you something.

The bottle issue is for the frosted clear Pressol hand sprayers that he has been trying to perfect for over 6 years now. The latest "Pro-Series" were touted as finally being perfect after many improvements and revisions. The internals of the spray head were improved, and the bottles fluorinated to make them more chemically resistant. They apparently fixed the tip splitting by going with stainless steel, and a new silicone tube with wire retailers to prevent falling off the weighted filter or inlet to the sprayer. Last week, he posted a video displaying his life achievement, that the Pressol's were perfect.

Within two days, the stainless-steel tips were rusting in customer hands............................because Pressol Germany accidentally made them from steel. Then the fancy pickup straws were being cut in half by the wire retainer. And the latest being high alkaline products turning the bottles from clear to brown. All this despite the following quote -

The ProSeries sprayer has undergone rigorous, in-depth chemical durability testing in collaboration with Matthias from the engineering department at Pressol.

And now this is posted on the product listing -

We are currently investigating an issue with the ProSeries bottle discoloring when using high-pH chemicals, like P&S Brake Buster, Shine Supply Wise Guy, and Angelwax Vision. It is recommended that you avoid using this spray bottle with similar high-ph chemicals to avoid discoloring the bottle. Note this is only a cosmetic issue, so if the appearance of the bottle isn’t a concern to you, the sprayer can continue to be used as normal.

We are also investigating a separate issue with the flexible suction tube when used with adhesive removers, like CARPRO TarX or Koch Chemie Eulex. It is recommended that those chemicals not be used with the sprayer at this time.

We are actively working with Pressol on finding the root cause and determining the corrective action.

So, if all this "testing" was done, how come they didn't find these issues BEFORE they were put on sale, before customers pre-ordered, before customers handed over $20 a bottle?

On one hand, I kinda feel sorry for him, he's sunk so much money and effort into these things. But on the other, I just don't know why they have wasted all this effort and still have a dud product. The clear bottles were never intended for car cleaning chemicals, in fact they were always called "Household Sprayers". It's the kinked black and red plastic bottles that were chemically resistant, likewise the industrial spray head.......................................but they can't put a label on them because of the unique shape, and the whole matching label thing has been the goal from the beginning.

I have the previous version, but they otherwise look the same as the new ones. (These weren't bought from OG by the way). They look great and love the matching labels. However, the Kawzar Mercury 360 are streets ahead better, be that the build quality, superior trigger action, better pickup tube, superior atomization.
