What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I add SLS to my homemade panel prep. It adds lubricity. Picked up that tip from Jon at Forensic Detailing.

The TAOS was waaaaay overdue for a contact wash, so I got after it this evening

I decided a good, strong RW was in order, so I dialed up Labocosmetica Preludio alkaline pre-treat & Carbon Collective RW for the task...the dirt, film and droppings didn't stand a chance

I also used ADS Amplify as my drying aid and you know what's nice about having so many sprays...anything I grab from my collection just kills it, Amplify is NO exception

Leftover was used on the tires, wheels and wells and it was all factory fresh

I went with a Real Truck, Gator SFX which is a soft vinyl tri fold. Believe it was $238.00.
Would have liked to have a hard folding cover but they are too much $$.
If one uses the full bed on s regular basis one of the roll up covers may be convenient.
The Gator SFX is super simple to remove completely and is very light if one needs to remove the whole thing.

Real Truck you say? I drive by their HQ all the time.

Love your truck! That color is really nice!

I will call this garage floor cleaning prevention. I will be picking up my 97 Dodge Dakota from the shop today. The truck was leaking fluids in various replaces so getting various seals and gaskets replaced. I know the valve cover gaskets and a seal in rear differential were two. The oil pam was a challenge due to 4x4 drive shaft so gave up on home repairs and the mess.

I started working on this 2015 Z28 with only 3000 miles. Unfortunately the paint has been through hell and back. I believe the owner said that his son took a broom to it to remove the dust. I suspect this has also seen a few automatic washes because these are the swirls of repeated scratch tunnel abuse.

This weekend is the heavy cutting phase and I’ll wrap up next weekend with the finishing polish and ceramic coating. So far things are coming out better than I expected.

The Qashqai goes in for it's annual roadworthy inspection this week, so I tidied up the interior. Vacuumed the mats and carpet, I even gave the logos on the mats some attention, dabbed them with some Fabracadabra from Bowden's. After I took the pics I noticed the door sills needed a wipe as well, used Ech2o for that.PSX_20250809_160122.jpgPSX_20250809_160211.jpgPSX_20250809_155959.jpgPSX_20250809_161156.jpg

So I decided to get after it this morning, scrub the new tires, coat them and do a simple Touchless wash and drying aid. Here's what I used:

-CarPro WheelX

-ADS Clean @4:1

-Detailing Products Wash N Wax

-Labocosmetica Idrosave @100:1 as a drying aid

-ADS Ghost Tire Coating

What a joy all this was! Simple scrubbing of the tires, no touch wheel cleaning, foam, dwell & rinse of the EN and Labocosmetica Idrosave QD & the Liquid8R as the drying towel...easy AND effective! I finished with 2x's ADS Ghost tire coating🤌

Looking sharp Roger, I love that feeling of driving around on fresh rubber.

Roger,
What is your opinion of the Idrosave as a drying aid? Was the 100:1 a stout enough ratio?
Car looks great.

I made it up based on you talking about it and YES, it's VERY stout, worked like a dream, especially with my Liquid8R towel The ratio I actually used was 3.5 of Idrosave and 1 gallon of distilled water. I've gotta say, Labocosmetica is an amazing detailing product company, stuff that NOONE else has
