What did you do today non-detailing related?

I got some new headphones, I have some really good Sony over ear headphones, but I can't wear them with the kind of headwear you need in the Australian summer. I've tried the little Bluetooth ear buds, but as soon as I put my phone in my pocket I get repeated signal drop outs, and cable ones are just annoying. So I went with these. They connect with the same Sony app as my good headphones, which has an EQ in it to fine tune the sound. I tested them out while mowing the lawn, again, after only 6 days. I could have waited another day but there is rain predicted tomorrow. The new headphones were fine, not as good as noise cancelling, but they're "in ear" so it was almost as good, and no drop outs. The sound quality was excellent.

Made the last payment on my GLI. Getting a title for Christmas this year!

I've been making Ferrari-Sized payments for four months shaved 2 years off the loan. By Ferrari size I made one of $5,300. Ouchy. But now it feels good.

Thanks! First VW loan I've seen through to the end. I can blame dieselgate on one, and hip pain on the other.

The bad thing of paying your cars off is you get use to no car payment and then a lot less apprehensive of getting a new one. I want a new car but that no payment is pretty sweet.

Congrats though you two.

The event is held on a large skid pan, in effect giving those who enjoy that sort of thing a safe place to do it and keeping it off the street. But it also tends to give the young one's the idea they can do it too, that's where it becomes a problem and one of the reasons the young girl was killed on a public road.

I'm no saint on the road either, but the key thing is to do so out of other drivers' way. Living in the country, that is certainly a benefit, there are plenty of quiet roads out to enjoy your car without harming others.

I doubt an event like that is giving the young ones the OK. They’d be doing it anyways. Kids burning out and driving stupid has been going on since the dawn of cars. Like blaming NASCAR or Formula 1 for kids racing…

It's the thing I don't get about drifting, the car is out of control and you need to control THAT It's all about an LS in a small, Japanese car (i.e. Nissan 240SX) smoking the tires constantly and having another car next to you doing the same thing, sometimes and it's just not my cup of tea, not because I'm 53 yrs old but rather someone that gets something entirely different out of being a car guy.

Age may have something to do with it. We all like racing in what we grew up with. I didn’t grow up with NASCAR so not a fan. I understand the skill it takes to turn left really fast but feel skills in formula, rapley and high speed drifting take more skill.

But really my feelings are probably because that’s what I grew up with.

Took me a long time to appreciate drivers who go really fast in a straight line. Use to think it was all the machine but as I got into it saw how much difference a driver can make.

I don't get into any MotorSports other than rally racing, wasn't exposed to it when younger but come the year 2000 and I did

I spent a couple of hours cleaning the drink fridge in the garage, normally it's the Pepsi Max cans that freeze up, but they don't explode.

At the point I took that pic it was still solid ice inside. When I poured it out this morning it was just slightly brown water, but for $5 I would have. The true test would have been licking the inside of the fridge.

Did some snowblower maintenance ahead of winter. I've never seen old oil come out that clean. Didn't get used much last year.

The DeWalt air pump struck me as slow when I first got it but I've started appreciating how well it does stopping at the set pressure. Works well in winter when you need to add some air to all tires.
