What did you do today non-detailing related?

Well this is a little awkward. So in my Rona time I build computers as a bored hobby. So buddy gonna try to message me trying to get me to build one with a stolen credit card . I notice it in the beginning but I wanted to see if I could get him to tell on himself. So I told him he had to pay cash before I do anything and this was his response . God man they don't make criminals like they used to lol they are just getting dumber and dumber

Started working on my French cleat tool wall setup

Used two sheets of 3/4" plywpod for these strips
Still have two more to mount really high :-)

Uses Interlocking 45 degree angles
Super easy to grab and go
Easy to arrange and rearrange

Now to design and build the various tool stations and tool holders for the various tools I have

I generally use these pictured cabinets as towel storage but have since moved most towels to huge metal file cabinets

Hey Guz, I found a pic of the quad projector HIDs i had made a little over 18 years ago. It was $700 for the new housings, the 4 projectors and labor to assemble them and another $500 for the Sylvania HID kit, an OEM 4300K kit at that. This mod completely changed the look of the car IMO

Went to the dealership to have my oil changed and tire rotated....2nd time in a row that they read my sign plastered on the dash and mirror not to wash the car...it was a success!!

It also didn’t hurt that we’ve had huge thunderstorms rolling through Houston since about 4:00am!

Noobie Tip: Print huge (11x17 & letter) sign “please do not wash car” on your dash and somewhere on your instrument cluster.

Aside from working a 10 hr day, I took my drone for a 20 min flight. Getting braver and braver w each flight. The thing is so cool. I had my roof done last year and I got some nice shots of it.

Yesterday I picked up some applications for permits From my town to build a semi-in ground pool in my yard and deck. That’s not gonna happen. Pool contractors are not entertaining me this year. They are super swamped and backed up. Guess I have time to plan the pool and deck and they’ll pay me attention in Dec when no one is calling them. Maybe I can even get a better deal.

Yesterday was the first time my son was able to get back on a soccer field for a training session. Omg it felt so good being on the turf, around other humans, and to see smiling faces and hear laughter. All kids got their own gear, area to play with, and were kept socially distant.

All quarantine long I’ve been saying how good it is to not have all my spare time taken up by travel soccer. But once we got on the field I realized how much I have missed it, how much I enjoy soccer, and how much closer it gets me to my son every time we play. After my sons training ended w the pro coaches we stayed another hour hour w him and my daughter and continued practicing. I coach my sons U11 travel team and hanging around all the kids keeps me young (and tired) and really grounds me. So glad we are back to practicing. Maybe we’ll even have a soccer season in the fall.

Made a few improvements in the garage

French cleat tool wall for one side of the garage. Taking advantage of a high mostly unused wall. The tv will be back up soon

DIY Tool wall on one side
Pressure washer and master blaster in one corner
Huge DIY floating Shelves for details supplies on the front wall

Wow the new 40 degree tip with rubber surround exceeded my expectations!

I wish I had a detached shop. I currently do washing, detailing, and woodwork in the same garage.

Celebrated the 4th with a about 25 friends and the 4 nieghbors around us all did the same. There were about a dozen b or so groups celebrating the d t I met in th we sports fields behind us. It was a blast..literally.

The wife wants a Sun Setter awning on the deck but I have been fighting it for years. There is no power outlet on the deck. I finally installed an outdoor outlet and it even works and there were no electrical fires. It’s a good place to plug in my smoker. The Sun Setter awning is being installed in 2 weeks.

Dads “detailing crap” to the rescue!!

Daughter went camping with a bunch of friends last night and came home with this....wifey of course asked if I could use my detailing “do-da washer power thingy” to clean her shoes!

Nothing exciting for me. Picked up a nail last night on the way home so took the car in today to get that taken care of. It was able to be plugged and while I was there I was due for a brake fluid flush so took care of that as well.
