What did you do today non-detailing related?

Changes out the steering shaft on the Grand Prix. Talk about a pain the @$$.

Joints were worn out.

Replacement on the right.

The Grand Prix got some new parts while I have been off on vacation.

New Strut Mounts
New steering shaft
New PCV valve
New transmission filter and fluid with the new magnet location upgrade
 
Wrapped some more for my wife inside her civic.

Changed the oil in my envoy denali and re wrapped my gmc logo on the grill. Here is the emblem

Also fixed my small coolant leak i had. Replaced upper radiator hose while back and guess hose clamp wasnt holding tight and hose was able to move. Threw on a new clamp from my collection and good to go. Next up is all my front end work i need to do including my lift kit. Then my bigger tires wont rub on full lock turns lol.

Ive personaly used that color on my wheels on other car and its an awesome color. If uve never used plastidip before. Make sure you use one can per wheel of that color. The glossifier is just basically however glossy you want it. Peeling that crap off sucks when its not thick enough. I use plastidip all the time and have many pieces done on my envoy denali right now. Plus thicker it is makes very durable. Plus that color is gonna look killer on that color vette. Nice choice.

Yeh have to be honest ive never done the barrels so you will prob need more. Just most important is make sure plenty of coats. If you dont use 1 full can per face of wheels you didn’t use enough and when you go to pull off it’ll be a pain. They make stuff that basically dissolves it off and spray off with pressure washer. But the thicker it is the longer it’ll last. And you don’t have to tape off tires but since its not black id recommend something to cover. On some of the wheels I’ve done i was able to use playing cards all stuck in between wheel lip and tires. Really depends on the wheel style. Eventually when you do remove it if it was thick it will come off almost in one piece.

So I picked up this sprayer system for 75 bucks

Supposedly like new.
Used once and cleaned up.

It wasn't too clean but it has a super long hose. Excited to get it tested out.
May dip my truck
Have a wheel dip kit in the way for my corvette

Not today but the other day i worked on my inlaws 05 dakota with the 4.7. Wouldnt pass emissions so i fixed it quick and dirty way. Spacers for the rear o2’s and a new upstream o2 and it passed with flying colors. Problem i have is with mechanic they usually take it to was looking at it before me and said it needed an engine? The thing has no issues except the cats being bad which is what the spacers take care of. Its said now a days mechanics taking advantage of people. He could have even replaced cats and o2’s and it woulda passed too but instead he was trying to take bunch of money on an engine.

I'd say he did a poor job of cleaning up

On second thought-- i'd say he didnt clean it up
 
Snowed and salt/sand on roads past few days. Went to pay and spray with all the things but forgot my mitts.

Cam home and washed in the rain.... the looks i got from people in the neighborhood driving by!

Also put Polish Angel Supersport on one front wheel. Wanna see if it stays cleaner than the Sio2 sealant i put on other.

Also tried 3 drying aids....

Ammo Hydrate
Chemical Guys After Wash
TW ceramic Quick Wax

Interesting results ill post on Autopia eventually

Put a battery in our 05 sienna. Still needs a little bit of work but seeing if we can sell it first before i put tons more money in it. We still drive it some as its a spare vehicle. Thinking bout keeping it. Its been a good vehicle. Haven’t had to do many repairs in 50k miles we have put on it. Its got 176750 miles but thats not even broke in yet lol
