What did you do today non-detailing related?

On Saturday afternoon I yanked the chain of some coworkers and car buddies by texting them pics of my neighbors Jeep Rubicon with my vanity plates on it. I had rinseless washed it for him and got the idea while squeegeeing the windows. Great fun and WOW! those comments were mostly not family friendly. A couple coworkers walked into the office and called me a jerk after they pulled in and saw my SS where the Jeep they were expecting was parked.

Getting back into Photography

Non Detail related, I got back into one of my handful of hobbies. I've done photography and even run a small studio in the past but for several years have hardly picked up any of my expensive gear. Sadly even here I don't often spend much time composing or actually practice any real "photography" but have often defaulted to a cell phone or a smaller pro-sumer camera. This week I got back into it and picked up another Full Frame Camera. This time making the move into the Mirrorless realm vs adding another DSLR to my cabinet.

Canon's newer R6 is an awesome little body and will likely be the main-stay of my photos here going forward. I have a nice collection of pro-gear from Canon but I also have a couple third party lenses that I found out need to go back to their manufacturers for a firmware update this week. Ugh......I hate putting lenses in the shipping company's hands but I have to.

We likely had the last nice weekend of the year so I spent a bunch of time in the garage cleaning up and reorganizing stuff and also put my motorcycle and lawn more away for the winter.

Thought about putting winter wheels/tires on my car, but I didn't cave yet....although I might bite the bullet tonight since we might get some snow tonight/tomorrow and I possibly have to go into the office tomorrow.

Did a season ending burnout before putting the car in storage for the winter

Well seeing I couldn't go downtown DC today because everyone wants to get the Rona and clog up the streets. I thought I would go in the basement and rebuild my gaming station and build a new system to match my personality

Thank you good sir. I was able to get a 3070 but waiting to upgrade to a 3090 later. Then I was able to get the new xbox. The only thing left I need is the new PS5 and then the man cave is complete . Well my wife did yell at me randomly asking when I came back in the house did I buy a PS5. I was like no but that's only cause they sold out

Thursday night I put the snow shoes on.
Velox brand wheels with Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4. Got them used from my sister-in-law after she sold her Audi S3.

Wow, your R must feel unstoppable when it snows! Great rare color red.
I miss mine.

I haven't driven it in snow yet. Just got it in March. If it's anything like my MazdaSpeed6 with winter tires, should be a tank in the snow. Can't wait to get out and play in some snow.

Love the MS6, any pics?

My first event of the season. 6 hour photo shoot with a professional photographer. My next event is Lowe’s Home Improvement Store.

Ha! I will wait a while before upgrading to the PS5. Still plenty of PS4 games for me to play, and still new releases coming of my favorite - Assassin's Creed.

We are finally making progress on the face lift of my garage. Been close to two weeks since we 1st patched and ground the floor getting ready for a coating. I posted the day we got the chipped epoxy first done but was not a good application, it had spots that the chips didn't fully adhere and had some banding. We finally figured out we were given the amount for the application. We were told just needed a 3/8 nap roller and a wet thickness of 5mil which was actually about half what was needed. 5mil was the listed minimum suggested thickness and 12 was max suggested according to specs we got later. We did get 5 gallons free for our troubles tho but nothing for the time it cost.

Here is a picture of finishing of the second time.

Here is one after scraping and sanding in prep for the top coat of which we did 3 coats.

Here are a couple pictures after doing the drywall repairs.

And finally I was able to get a picture of the holographic chips ion the floor, in person you can always see them but I have found it difficult to photograph them.

We still have to epoxy and chip the perimeter where the concrete is showing. Also plan on getting some cement board and doing the bottom of the wall that is just drywall.

I'm pinched for time right now, and daylight, so I ran my car through the Delta Sonic non-brushes car wash this morning. So when you chose the $11 one you get to run it through again the next day for free, same wash too, so I'll be doing just that. I feel this is really a good wash when I need to practice time management
