What did you do today non-detailing related?

Mounted the bike rack to the trailer. Ready for pick-up. I talked the owner into doing the paint himself so I wouldn't have to as that is my least favorite part of this kind of job. I told him he could save a few hundred bucks by painting it himself and he begrudgingly agreed :) I did paint the underside before mounting it though.

Installed a Christmas gift "Weathetech" Tonneau Cover on a friend's truck.

I'm not familiar with all of the different brands and styles out there, but after installing this one it sure wouldn't be my choice of covers for my truck.

The side rail mounting system sucks... You can't install the rails without distorting them as you tighten the supplied clamps. I even wasted about an hour dicking around with strategically placed shims but gave up and just installed them as designed.

The cover looks ok when closed. When rolled open, the side rails are like a roller coaster if you sight down them back to front. I guess the overall quality is pretty typical in today's world... Good enough to sell and satisfy most customers, but certainly not up to my standards for fit and finish.

Took the SS to Discount Tire to change the winter set for the regular A/S set.

Took the truck to get dog food, then went to menards and got some new lights for the garage, new kitchen sink faucet and new bathroom sink faucet. Installed faucets and trying to figure out where to install the lights exactly so I can figure out how much wire I need

Trying to figure out my new WYZE watch. I never thought I would wear a watch again however I wanted to try this one. It is comfortable and has a lot of features.

They make good inexpensive stuff. I just installed their doorbell last weekend.

I finished installing a harken hoister in the garage so I could get my 12' kayak off of the sawhorses it was on and work towards getting a 2nd car back in the garage.

Moved snow at my house and bosses and a buddies. We got 26” in less than 24 hrs so town is a disaster. Plow trucks shut down due to lack of visibility so nothing is open. Gonna be a boring few days

Speed Engineering c7 headers arrived today.
Unfortunately the x pipes that fits with these (ordered sane day/showed in stock) are now on back order for at least a month

I deleted a bunch of the pictures in my reply.

How big of a shoehorn do you need to get those in? :D
I can't imagine they are easy to install.

You'll have to post some sound clips when you get the full exhaust on.

They go in from the bottom. Suppose to be pretty easy with a lift.
A friend with a lift will be installing them.

Not for this truck. For a c7 corvette

Re organized the garage the other night. Wrapped a removable seat from the van in a trash bag and put it on a shelf tucked in the corner. Got all the detailing stuff moved around so it’s pretty close to the same area. It looks a lot better. Have to build more shelves this spring

Summer treads on.
Winter treads drying before they hibernate for the summer.

Oh, and did a rinseless wash as well.

Love my French cleat but got tired of the boring plywood color.

Stained it and all tool holders I have built carbon gray today

Pulled the trigger on a super nice PolyAspartic Finished Garage floor for completion in late May! Company is having a trailer dropped off on Friday so I can move everything on the floor (not a ton) into it and prepare for their work on the following Monday.

According to the company they will diamond grind the floor and complete the entire installation in a single day. I can walk on it the next day and begin moving everything back inside. I'll have the trailer for a few days as I'll be putting in a new work bench and likely re-arranging a few things prior to the move-back.

They say 36-48hrs I can park cars on it and of course the following weekend, I'll be detailing another ride. Finally coming together after having to put it off in 2020 due to Covid Stuff.
Going with a grey base and black and white flakes.
