What did you do today non-detailing related?

Installed a new back door in my house.
Old door was original solid wood, 80 years old single pane glass and leaked like a sieve.

Hit some trails on Drummond Island. Rocks, mud, water. Don’t mind the duck on the dash, that’s a Jeep thing. People leave them on your Jeep if they like.

Continued cleaning up a bit in prep for the garage floor coating going in next month. Part of my struggle is I don't want to spend a ton more money on cabinets, etc just yet and instead am making due with what I have. It's a suburban dad garage after all.

Keeping my cheap workbench that I've had since collect days in my apartment garage. Call me silly. Laid down toolbox liner on top of it to give it a decent and easily cleanable surface to work. This is where I will likely keep my detailing products, towels and pads as I work. Have to figure out what I want on the pegboard but I have a nice assortment of hangers, etc.

Moved my most commonly used chargers on top of the freezer which is also lined with the same material. Fastened super strong earth magnets to the chargers so they aren't going anywhere.

Moved a 5ft long Acia top table from my lower level work room to the garage under the TV. This is where I will likely review documentation, etc with people as they come in. Have an SD card running a nice slideshow of my work on the TV as they do. I can control or skip to various slides simply using my phone. I'll be relocating the outlets and cleaning up that wall later.

Lastly, detailed related but putting it here, I picked up a nice little mini creeper and inspection like from a popular local store. Both at a great price and both work very well.

Continued work on my garden today, adding more plants, changing the irrigation system and mulching.

I gutted this garden late last year to start from near fresh, only keeping a couple of key shrubs and trees. I still need another load of mulch to finish things off but I'm happy with how it has shaped up.

No, he is very much a hands (paws) on type of supervisor, although I'm not sure how much help he provided.

Finished building a raised bed garden to grow peppers in this summer. The wood was from pallets.

Made a family outing to the Chicago Toy Fair this morning. This was the first time in two years that we were able to make it.

Make sure they weren't treated with Methyl Bromide, it's toxic. If they're marked only with HT (heat treated) they should be ok.

Picked up a new Daily Driver....

So I did a thing.....finally pulled the trigger on a new daily driver saving some meat on the bone for both a new car for my daughter coming this summer and a toy for me likely next year or possibly late this year if it works out.

Thursday, I'll head out to pick up a fully loaded 2019 Accord 2.0t Touring with a few upgrades including Ceramic Tint, Upgraded Alloy Wheels, Factory moldings and integrated mud guards, all weather mats and more. Platinum White Pearl with two-tone leather interior.

Did I say kids are expensive? LOL! Slight departure from what I've had in the past but I will dig not having to keep up with black paint this time!

I'll be detailing and coating it this weekend and also getting the entire front, rocker panels and more done in PPF. Very likely ordering up some high-gloss Black PPF for the roof too. Should look like a piece of black glass from the windshield to the rear window once I'm done with the install of it. Stay tuned!

Dealing with a misfire in my 89 5.0.
Changed plug wires, checked/adjusted gap on plugs, no change.

I swapped to my old coil, but haven't driven it yet to see if that helped.

I've swapped distributors, no change.

If the coil doesn't help, I'll may try a new distributor cap (current one is maybe 1k miles old, but maybe it's a dud out of the box).

Frustrating because pretty much the only good thing about the car is the engine....well, that and the brakes.

Went bass fishing at the local pond and got skunked. They are on their spawning beds and are not interested in anything right now but what nature intends for them this time of year. Sun was shining most of the time so I synthesized some natural vitamin D.

Perfect day for mowing the lawn. Outside temperature in the low 70’s.

Finished up most of the paint protection film. Have to wait until Thursday this week to get the larger roll of film in which will accommodate the entire hood. About 2hrs left. Otherwise, the entire front end is done in one piece and in total the car will be very well protected.

Entire Hood
Front Fenders
Headlights / Foglights
A Pillars
Gloss black door pillars (6)
Leading edge of roof in front of sunroof
Rocker panels all the way back

Mowed the lawn. First stripes going that direction this year. This was before edging the driveway as well.

Sold my Model 3. Driven only 1000 miles in the last year due to working from home.

It went to a great Tesla family.

Used car prices are crazy now. Didn't think it would actually sell but supply is low and demand is high. Especially for trucks! Check Vroom and Carvana if you have a truck and want to flip it.
