What did you do today non-detailing related?

Some dude rolled in driving a brand new Z06. Nice car. Beautiful paint.

Red pinstripe to replicate redlines...on a car that new...and "exotic", they sure know their demo for those cars, huh

That conversion van takes me back to when I was in grade school. Our neighbor had one, blue w/ S/S Cragers, chain steering wheel, chrome "feet" pedals, custom interior and "fuzz Buster" under a cowboy hat on the dash

Each Test Match can take up to 5 days, and you don't play each country every year. It is difficult to explain if you haven't grown up with it. But if you know anyone from India over there, ask them, did you see Australia just beat India in the cricket? They'll probably be very annoyed. But if they're from Pakistan, they'll be happy we beat them.

Fyi, the prize money for the winners was $1.6M in USD.

$1.6M *each* or shared amongst the team? Either way working 5 years for only $1.6M doesn't seem like a very good payoff.

Lol…. 300K a year? More than 99% earn in a year…. Glad your a baller….

Not sure where you picked up that I was comparing it to myself, but OK. I was thinking of other professional athletes. Bryce Harper (baseball), for example, makes about $30M/year - about 20 times what this payoff is/was for FIVE years and that's assuming it was not for the whole team. Bryce Harper is a "baller" (I'm not googling that, I'll take your word for it) I guess.

FWIW I actually like cricket, played it as a kid when I lived abroad.

That's shared, but for just the one match, all players are on contracts, for example the Australian Captain gets $3M AUD a year, plus match payments of up to $20k per game. He can also play in the Indian Premier League in our off season, it's a T20 series where the games only take about 3 hours, top players get $5m contracts for playing maybe 20 or 30 games. T20 are easier to watch for beginners, shorter and have a lot more action. Here's some highlights, players hitting sixes, the equivalent of a home run, but he gets to stay out there and keep doing it

Wasn’t comparing to you per say. Just way you said it seemed like 1.6 mill for 5 years work wasn’t worth it to you.

I get your comparison but cricket just isn’t that popular. Roles reversed and baseball not that popular I’m sure Bryce would play for 300k a year vs a regular job…

And yes, Bryce is a baller in every sense of the word

I get your comparison but cricket just isn’t that popular.

Popular is a relative term, not popular in the US, for sure. But if you look at the populations of the countries that take part in the international cricket competitions, you're looking at over 2 billion people, but maybe only 40% to 50% of them are fans of the game. Some countries treat their teams like rockstars or royalty. But probably still doesn't compare to football (soccer) popularity worldwide. But I really don't like watching football, I find it boring.

I can't sit and stare at it anymore, but when you know something is going to happen, I'll pay attention. But I'll usually be doing other stuff on my phone while it's on. It's good to have on in the garage while I'm detailing, it rarely breaks my concentration.

I was a fan of the 90s cricket not know but i have been watching a little seems more interesting when playing in another country.

Ah, OK, it's a bonus - that makes way more sense! I always like the game when I played it but I admit I still don't understand the international match structure and how it all plays out. Over the past year or two I've noticed cricket sometimes being broadcast (though not on the "big" outlets) and paused for a bit to watch. Like a lot of sports it sure has changed! Helmets and masks, advertising on the uniforms . . . but what struck me most was the uni's weren't *WHITE*! That was a bit jarring at first. Game still seemed the same, though. There used to be a pitch on one of the lakefront-adjacent parks (and I even played a couple games there) a LOOONG time ago but doesn't seem to be there anymore. No doubt replaced by one of the now ubiquitous pickleball courts or a skateboard park or something.

Pre-ordered the new Forza Motorsport Premium Edition. I have been waiting for a new FM for over 5 years...been far too long. The whole reason I acquired the latest Xbox generation was for FM. Most expensive video game ever Super stoked, I believe October 5th is release date. *note to self, save PTO for early October*

I went to the doctor today to get my blood test results, I have type 2 diabetes, and they like to test my blood once or twice a year, to make sure everything is functioning ok, and it's free, so why not.

Everything is good, glucose is down slightly, cholesterol is good, although my "good" cholesterol is a bit low so I should eat more fish. Kidney and liver functions are good, everything else is at the levels they should be.

Not that I thought anything was wrong, but it's good to know everything is good. All this not working must be good for me.

So Friday the 16th is nearly here and my nephew Kaleb will go in for his 10 hour surgery
They will be stopping his heart for 20 minutes.

My mother is a nurse with 15 year's on the job so is a little stressed because she knows what can and can't happen.

The family all can't wait for the phone call tomorrow saying everything went to plan.

Thank you to everyone for the support,

Cheers, Ayden :o
