What did you get for Christmas? Post it in here!

For everyone, there were lots of sales (20% off, no exclusions, free gifts, no minimum free shipping).

Rupes LHR 15ES, 16 Rupes foam pads and Metro Sidekick. Can't wait to try them out this weekend.

I installed the kit on my M&P40, as well as installed on a M&P40C (compact).
The toughest part is the sear spring, everything else is a cake walk! (there's videos on youtube of how to install the kit.) If you run into any issues, please contact me, I'd be happy to help.

With the M&P that kit is a must in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it is a great gun out of the box, but that kit enhances everything about that trigger. You will not be sorry if you make the change, it really makes it a nice crisp trigger with a sharp break (and an incredibly short reset).
Mine has never double tapped, or had any issues that I can of. I've put about 3,000 rounds through it over the 3 years of owning it, only issue was a round that stove piped.
Never had a failure to fire, never had the gun shoot until I told it too.

Long story short: Be careful putting a kit in your M&P, it might just become your new favorite :dblthumb2:

Thanks for the reassurance! I will definitely be looking into an upgrade for my M&P for sure! Not in any rush though as my Kimber solo has become my DC this winter! :-)

Would I be correct in making the assumption that you are an ARFCOM member? I know we have a few of them lurking around here somewhere! :-)

The Kimber is an excellent DC but the M&P with the DCAEK kit will have you asking: where have you been all my life? its really that good so RUSH RUSH RUSH

My Wife was pretty amazing to me this year. She did this all on her own.

I love Kimber's One of these days if I ever get the spare cash (hahaha!!!!) I'll pick one up.

I'm not too sure what an ARFCOM member is... I googled it real quick and it looks like it's for AR platform? I'm a member of the NRA, does that count? lol
I have nothing against AR's, one of these days I'll get around to building one, I just prefer pistols since they are more practical to my needs at this time. I have a few different shot guns, and my trusty bolt action 30-06 for the occasional hunting trip (I love boar hunting!).
I also do my own reloading (I only carry CCI gold dots when concealed, but those are dang pricey to shoot at the range!).

I got a nice 80qt boiling pot and propane burner. I can't wait until spring when I can get some crawfish and boil my own. That should be fun and tasty.

I recently bought a new BBQ grill so my wife got me a wireless BBQ grill and meat thermometer. The transmitter sits near the grill and two temperature probes are connected to it. The probes are used to monitor food and grill temp or 2 foods or 2 BBQ temps... pretty much any combination needed. The wireless receiver shows both probe temps and can be set to alert when the temps get above or below a certain point. This should be a very useful tool when slow grilling roasts, pork loins or whatever else finds itself on the grill.

Not all my gifts were pertaining to food/cooking. I did get some detailing stuff - a few LC hydro-tech pads and a $50 AG gift cert. :props:

Twitch,

Sounds like you got a new Maverick wireless grill/smoker monitor. I LOVE MINE! Have that one and another single probe that has an alarm (for an extra piece of meat).

One of the best investments we've made for slow smoking, hands down. :)

Best of all I spent Christmas with my 2 brothers in South Fl. Noting like fishing out in the Keys catching lane snappers, yellow tail jacks, and black groupers all day......in the back of a friend of a friends home. It's good to know people.

Rant:

What did I get for Christmas? Can I tell you I hate Target?

emasujaz.jpg

One of the things I got for Christmas was a $200 Visa gift card. So, yesterday @ 8pm one of my cats puked on the carpet. I usually use Folex to clean this up - but I was running low, I buy it by the gallon. So, I decided to go to Target to buy some time of vacuum style carpet cleaning machine.

Now, this is at 8pm & Target closed at 9pm. So, I quickly check reviews online and their in store stock online. I decided on the machine I wanted (a Bissell), that coincidently was $199. Target is 10mins away.

I'm now at Target, put the machine in my cart, and head to the check out. Somehow when I get there it rigs up at $286. Wha? So, knowing I will get nowhere with the cashier, I head back to where it got it from. While I'm staring in confusion, someone asks if they can help me.

I said maybe I put the wrong machine in the cart, but I want this one:

Your website says you have it in stock:

The Target lady starts looking in my cart and at what I'm pointing to and is as confused as me. She then tells me the one I want (that is still on display and still marked "in stock") was "replaced" by the one in my cart and nobody bothered to take it off display, take the price down, or take it out of stock. The one in my cart has no price on it on the display, and the box is in the slot of the one I want marked "$199". It looks just like the one I want, except it has purple trim.

This is the "replacement" machine (looks about identical, but has purple trim - not red):

It's at this point I remember that whole thing with Target "loosing" people's credit card info, and the zillion people I talked to that had to get new credit or debit cards because of some mess up of Target's security. Do I want to buy anything here now? No. Never again. Not even a soda.

Now I'm disgusted with Target and just wanna leave. This feeling of disgust with Target is familiar to me - I've felt it many times. Because, I know I can just get the $199 machine from Amazon about $140 delivered. I don't really care about the cash, but I'd feel like an idiot paying $286 for something I can basically get from Amazon for $140. $199 - not too bad - double the price? No way. Of course no offer was made to give me the more expensive machine at the price it's marked at where the boxes are - $199.

So, now I head home to finish cleaning up the mess with no Folex. I end up using my precious supply D103 / APC+, which I understand you can even buy in gallons anymore. This happens to me all the time at Target. I go there because it's close - and I end up leaving with nothing because they never have what I want. I swear I will never set foot in a Target again. I don't care if there is some crazy disaster and that building has the last food and shelter on the planet - I'll just die instead.

I bought a vacuum at Target, 6 months later the belt broke. I go to Target (where they are still selling the same vacuum) for a new belt and am told: "you have to get the belts online". Really? But I can get like 10 different spaghetti strainers in 10 different colors - with a matching Micheal Graves (whoever he is ??? - never heard of him but at Target) dustpan here, but you don't carry belts for vacuums you sell?

Never again.

I'm not alone:

Forget the detailing supplies!

Where do you lay down that Tag F1 when you're buffing? :D (And are there any neat hiding spots near by for a guy about 5'10½"?) :bolt:

I wanted another Tag but I got something even better with a nice addition!
