Hi guys,

I'm at it again, already brain storming my next order as more detail jobs come in!

I'm curious about the differences, if any, that exist in the following two combos of products between Wolfgang and Black Fire.

Combo 1:

  1. BLACKFIRE Deep Gloss Spray Sealant, spray wax
  2. Wolfgang Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant
Combo 2:

  1. Ultima Paint Guard Plus, paint sealant, liquid wax, paint sealer, car wax sealant
  2. BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal Paint Sealant 8 oz.
Also, with Combo 1, do those spray sealants and/or Chemical Guy's V7 Optical Spray Sealant need to cure (and if so, how long), or can they be used at anytime to wipe the car down in the polishing, sealing, glazing, and waxing process like a quick detailer without fear of interfering with proper bonding and results of other products?

THANKS! :)

Bump - any differences at all or advantages between the products above? :)

Bump again - trying to decide what to buy, the formulas and purposed of the products look identical, so I'm not sure which direction to go...

I can only speak more bf and i really think this will be brand preference.
The crystal seal easy to use and cure time is 15 mins for polymer spray.

Thanks Bigbull! Isn't the Ultima product only a 9 minute cure time though? I remember seeing a thread with that title a couple weeks ago.

I just assume these products are chemical clones of each other with different stickers on front, I just don't like spending more money on items if I don't have a clear answer first.

Kinda seems like you're just throwing products at a car, in what instance would you be applying these? After a detail? In between?

Are you trying to apply a fresh layer of sealant or maintain one? What is the desired outcome as far as finish quality and longevity?

What are you layering with?

Spray sealants would go over the UPGP or Crystal Seal, to extend longevity.

This is not for one specific car, I just keep a very diverse repertoire at hand. These products would be after a paint strip back to a fresh finish of course for proper bonding and flashing, and then I would apply subsequent coats with the spray sealants since from what I understand they are more so detail sprays than actual functional sealants, so it would still add some polymer protection but would also add an enhanced gloss.

Do you know of any differences between the products, or are they identical, and I should just stay stocked on the least expensive version? Thanks! :)

The WG and BF are just variants of one another with possible differences in application styles, curing times, overall clarity, etc. Crystal seems like the top tier of the ones you listed, but commands a premium over the others as well.

With that said Combo 2 seems like the better choice depending on layering these products won't interfere with each other, and the product applied after Crystal could be any of the other three listed without telling the difference IMO.

They always say performance cars are cheap, reliable, fast. Pick two.

I say detail products are cheap, easy to use, long lasting. Pick two.

Thanks so much RRD!

Combo 1 and Combo 2 were grouped together because they look like clone products, not because I was going to use them together. I wanted to use one product from Combo 1, and one product from Combo 2, apply the sealant, choose a good carnauba to top with after the sealants cure, and then use the Spray Sealant to maintain the reflectivity and longevity of the protection beneath. I was just having a hard time discerning any difference between the products from Combo 1 and Combo 2.
