What do you dry your car off with?

Re: What do you dry your dry off with?

That's not a bad deal on BOGO, I always have trouble drying with the terry weave, though.

I use waffle weave towels. Unfortunately, although they all claim to be the only towel needed, I end up using several. I'm thinking of picking up the BOGO waffle weaves today.

After a shower, I use a large bath towel. After washing my car, I use a waffle weave....on the car body, not mine.

I use my Metro Vac N Blow, then spray each panel with UWWC+ and then dry with a waffle weave.

Those towels actually dry amazing well. I am glad they are on BOGO. I'm ordering a few more.

90% sure the BOGO towels are the same ones sold at DD. in which case, they are awesome!

I use a shop vac that has a blower. I blow 95% of the water off and spray detail the whole car 100% dry.

Are you every concerned that the intake may pick up dust/dirt that ends up getting blown onto the just cleaned paint surface? I have one of these, but don't use it for just that reason. Maybe I'm too cautious.

At first I was but I saw everyone here does it so I figured I'd give it a go. I've been doing it for 2 years now and I've never had dirt/dust get blown out. I do it both indoor and outdoor as well.

I've had that happen. You never get all the dust and dirt out of a hose that's been used for vacuum. I've tried. At a minimum have a dedicated blow hose and HEPA quality outlet on shop vac like a Gore CleanStream filter. Or get a master blaster...can't vacuum with that!

I guess I have the wrong kind of dirt. :dunno:

I use waffle weave towels. I hate using microfiber because they never work very well. Always streak no matter what.

I bought a leaf blower to try out and it works pretty good. But I still have to go over it with a waffle weave in the end so I dunno if its worth keeping.

I've been using Waffle Weaves from AG and PakShak for many years, but I've been looking into the large Cobra Deluxe Ultra 600 Microfiber Towel, 25 x 36 inch.

Would the latter be better for my paint or prevent marring? I always wash my towels after each drying session too.

I have the 530's in that size and they're pretty good. Big. Almost too much towel. They don't mar my soft black paint. A lot of my other towels do. The 600 towels on bogo should be even better than mine, at the same price I paid. I would buy some but I bought 6 of the 530's for $40, it would just be a waste. If I could magically trade my 530's for 600's at no cost I would. But since I can't, what I got is pretty good.

Buy 6 for $40 and get your 20% off (so $32) and you won't run out of towel.

I spray the car down with distilled water and finish it off with the Cobra Guzzler and a standard waffle weave.

Every now and then I'll use an electric leaf blower to blow out crevices- nothing worse than a dry car that has headlights, trim pieces, mirrors, taillights, etc that are dripping water!

I use waffle weave towels and my craftsmen 210mph gas leaf blower :dblthumb2: Gotta get an electric though  oh and of course come back and QD....

I use a leaf blower at first, then I wipe down with this huge drying towel I got at another retailer. It was 6.5 sq. ft. for $8. Really soft IMO.
