What do you use to prime your pads before use?

I think you supposed to prime the pad with the same compound that you will be using. It just have to worked into the pad itself. From what i understand, please correct me if im mistaken.

Use pad conditioner then work the product in with the tips of your fingers. After that just a few pea size dots of polish will do the job. Nothing worse than dry buffing.

Jimmie, the last time I primed my pad with pad conditoner using Menz, it gummed up my pads. Never tried it again. Maybe I just either used to much conditioner or not enough product. Dunno!

Pinnacle XMT pad conditioner is what I use. Bought pads in a kit, and it came in it. I like it, it works well.

For a dry pad, I will use a very light mist of water, just enough to lightly dampen the surface of the pad. I then use just a bit more polish for the first pass and start off at the lowest setting and spread the polish around. This is with my UDM and LC CCS pads. I have not had any problems with this method and it seems to work good for me.

I don't think your alone Rsurfer. I've heard that about Menz (no conditioner). One that I learned from watching Ed at DFIII is spriting pad with H2O. That was with Optimum.

I wouldn't use anything other than the product itself. You never know if water or a QD may alter the performance of a polish/compound
