I know there have been some similar threads, but they are not usually all that specific. I am curious what items other than vehicles do you polish, wax, etc. with tools normally reserved for cars? What tools/products do you use for these other items? Here are some of my examples:

  • I wax the topsheet of my snowboard, shower mirror, and back of my cell phone with IW 845.
  • I clean my TV, counter tops, and table with ONR at clay lube ratio and microfiber towels.
  • I seal my sinks with Klasse AIO followed by Klasse SG.

These are just a few of my OCD like cleaning habits :D What are yours?

Washer and drier get Klassed - the plexi of the front load washer in particular is fantastic after a detailing. Also do the top sheets on my snowboards.

I have a 20 year old Playmate cooler that I detail every spring. For some reason that detailed cooler makes me very happy.

DP Total Interior, diluted, gets used around the house quite often.

I actually do the top of my washer and dryer with Klasse as well. Makes cleaning nice and easy. Do you just use AIO on your board's top sheet, or ever polish out swirl marks?

I want to know which polish would be best for removing scratches from DVD's. Don't want to use one that's too abrasive.

I've used the PC but never a swirl remover, not knowing anything about the makeup of the top sheet. I do usually SG them, too. Helps the snow release easily. I took this pic before I sold this board - the flash tells no lies, it could use a bit more love. In use though this thing looked fantastic.

Oh, I have a shiny set of woods, too!

That's where I draw the line. I've read about some products causing issues with disks. I use a special-purpose polish for that. Mapleshade Records has a very good disk polish. You could google up a recipe for a DIY formula too.

How about a 50/50 shot of a shower enclosure?

Novus Plastic Polish #2 works very well for CD's or DVD's. Have used it for years. If you open the bottle for some of the scratch removal kits at discount stores it usually has the Novus polish in them last time I looked.

I actually just did 2 DVD's 20 minutes ago.

^ I have used Plastic X and had good luck with it on damaged cds, I have been able to play many again that I thought had no signs of hope.

Great thread! I polish all sorts of aluminum parts in my engine bay, I wax our marble counters in the kitchen, and seal the shower doors/glass.

I also polish my bike every now and then.

And I thought it was just me...

The first use of my new 3" Griots polisher was to take swirls out of a fiberglass whirlpool tub with M205. Worked great!

I've used sealants on the inside glass of showers for years. Tried Rain X, Jetseal 109, BFWD.. all worked OK but I wasn't pleased with the payoff vs the amount of work. Lemme tell ya, Opti Seal is the ticket!

I think I need to find an OCD 12 Steps group.
