This boat has been sitting for 8, yes, 8 years. I found a tree with a 4" caliper trunk, and a ficus of all trees, with roots growing through everything. I had to rip out all the interior carpet and spent 5 hours just cutting out roots and removing them. I am detailing everything above the floor. Here is my progress so far. I've compounded the outside but still have some detail work to go over. I'm very excited about the results so far so of course I'm too anxious to share them. Keep in mind, this boat is no where near finished!

Thus far:

You can't really tell from the pictures but the gel coat actually has a really nice shine, and the green stripe has amazing gloss!! This thing will look great (minus the rotted out flooring) when I'm finsihed!!!! Here's to big projects! cheers!

Do you know what the black stuff is?I`ll tell you. It`s called sooty mold.Ficus trees are attacked by two different insects...White fly and or thrips depending on the variety. Its the extrament of the insect as they suck honeydew from the leaves. It`s been especially bad in the last several years. It was confined to Palm Beach and points south but because of the warm last two winters it`s traveled north to Martin co. and other county's to the east of Broward co.(Where OP Showtime is) and north of me to Central Florida.A vagarious scrubbing with soap and water will rid the mold. This mold also disrupts the PH of pools and stains them as well.I know it`s a little off topic as SHOWTIME did a great resurrection of the boat but the long time farmer in me is compelled to weigh in as I`ve seen it and battled these insects for years.Tim.

Sorry, there's no way that's the same boat!! :applause:

I hope you're being paid very well.....

Yeah I don't really believe it's the same boat. Nice recovery on that thing! Hopefully the owner realizes what you're doing for them...

I am billing $60/hr and so far I have 9 hours in the boat and anticipate another 10 at least. I'll keep yall updated!

And BornToRun: I am very familiar with white fly :) I did landscaping for 10 years (14-24) for my dad's company. I've done my fair share of soaks and treatments on ficus down here. It has gotten a LOT better! But we have 2 acres of Coconut palms that are INFESTED right now!!! God I'm glad I started detailing back then lol. I miss it, but I don't.

You and me have spiraling white fly and it`s been bad on coconuts the last two years.I have about 50 coconuts on my farm and man they look ugly. The sooty mold starves the plant of photosynthesis and the plant has a hard to to produce new leaves as the energy comes from the sun.Adding fertilizer sometimes makes it worse as the white fly is attracted to new growth.Once again I`m off topic so I will shut up now.(But I`m keeping your thread going, not that you need it with the quality of work your doing) I`ll bet the boat owner wont be parking under Ficus trees after your makeover.:dblthumb2:

With all of that, a rotten floor, rotten seat frames, wiring that is kaput, and a power plant that is done for........why would someone even pay for this?

I admire what you have done but I question the wisdom of whoever is paying for this.....I wouldn't take a check.

The motor is still good. Prop spins. Just needs some TLC

Wait. There was a tree growing in the boat? Did I read that correctly?

Eww. I don't think I would want to touch that one with a ten foot pole! That you did, I give you props.

Junk it, and walk into your local Ranger Dealer. You only live once!

I am not sure you could even donate that boat lol.

What a comeback !!!!

another little teaser :) Got her compounded polished and waxed today. The inside is cleaned up and getting detailed tomorrow.

Wow! What a fantastic turn around! Super job and thanks for sharing :dblthumb2:

looks great cant wait to see after your done with the interior

Don't expect too much from the interior. A lot of the vinyl and rubber components were beyond saving and the floors are all tore up. It will look very clean, but no where near perfect. I just ripped the floors out the other day actually. That was an experience...
