Well I slipped away for a couple of days and ran across something interesting, The Power of One Solar Car!
Something very interesting I learned, was Porter Cable is a sponsor.
Just a few interesting bits of info.... It weights 300kg with the driver in it, 5 meters long, 1.8m wide, has three wheels, with a maximum speed of 120 kmh aka 75 Miles per hour, has a rear camera to for backing up.
This car took a long journey starting in Canada on June 12th 2008, and this past weekend it hit the most southern point at Key West.

The guy with the orange visor is the driver, guy in charge on far left, and video man far right.

Funny thing is I thought when I looked back I saw this car raise up in the air, I thought, I have had one too many Fat Tuesday drinks and continued to walk away. Then I research this online and found this picture, now I think I could have had one more frozen drink!

Driving home a couple days later, I hit the seven mile bridge and I look over right before going over it and see him pulling up on my side, so I immediately sped up because I did not want to have to push this over the seven mile bridge.

And for all of you who have not taken a tropical holiday lately, this is what you are missing! I took this in Islamorada.

First off Meghan, I am jealous. I haven't been to the Keys is several years and need to go back. I actually like Marathon and the off-shore fishing there, but the Keys are always a good time. Great pictures.

Cool car, I have seen some of them being a engineering major. They are pretty cool but could not think about actually being in one. Also very jealous about your little get a way!

I miss FL, sent 20 resumes to different places down there hope to get a bite. Sorry short rant. Great pics, cool car especially with gas prices

I was very surprise at the speeds it could reach, to bad it took so long to get up to speed, I watched it pull away from a red light and I wanted to run up and push it to help them out.

I miss read the title and thought the thread said "What I ran over on my weekend away", which would have been a very different discussion.

Thanks for sharing. As for the speed from the light, I think Porter Cable would have great success with "powered by Meghan"

This thing has potential.

Autombile,Sailboat,Glider,Space craft...

I'd wheel it! :D

We just spend 3 days in Key West at the Casa Marina ... beautiful suites and private beach !

Heck. I've NEVER BEEN TO Florida in my life. I wish to go the Florida one of these years. Too bad there will not be another Annual Detail Fest will a year from now. I would LOVE to be at the next one. :(

We had a place in Key Largo, and I'm 27, and you know all these years I've only ever been to Key West once. Last time I think I was 10 lol. Just always stayed at the house and sometimes went to Islamarada, Marathon.

Be honest Meghan, did you try to sell them any products? Maybe some DP Waterless Wash and a couple of mf towels for drying and buffing? Hmmmm....I think maybe you did.

Hope you had a rockin' weekend! :righton:
