Hello all,

I can put the tire itself on the rim and balance it and put it on my car, but I want to get the best price possible on the tire. Where is a place to go with the cheapest tires?

Thanks a lot,
Steve

Discount Tire Direct. Remember getting the cheapest tire isn't the best thing to do. You need to look at tread wear ratings, load ratings, speed ratings.

Online retailers. Just make sure your buying from a reputable company. I've ordered from DiscountTire and TireRack before :xyxthumbs:

I always check Craigslist first for any local deals. The last tires I bought were from Craigslist, someone ordered 4 Bridgestones for his son and he ended up changing wheels. I ended up with 4 brand new Bridgestone Potenzas for $200. The exact models sell for $180 each on TireRack :D

Welcome!

Rider is correct. Cheap is not always best, and expensive isn't either. When I am looking for tires, I look at reviews from people who have similar vehicles/usage. The same tire can perform differently on various vehicles. i had 2 friends say 'brand x' were terrible on their mid-size truck, and 2 others say the same tire was great on their full size truck.

There is also a difference in ride when the rubbber is stiffer (for longer treadwear, etc). Road noise is also a factor.

There are several major tire manufacturers. All the off-brands are made by one of them.

The main thing to look for is how the tire performs for your particular needs. I want good ride, low noise, rain/snow traction, and tread wear.

I agree with what everyone has said. Going Cheap is not the way to go !!

You or a loved one will be riding with you on the tires. Safety is very important.

One of the areas to look at is what is the warranty on the tread life. Cheaper tires will have a short period of time, if they last that long.

You know, I've been on the forums for a long time and I rarely see anyone joining using their first real and last name. It happened recently when George Brown joined and asked and continues to ask seemingly strange and bland questions but never follows up to all the great answers he gets...

Some very good suggestions have already been given by AGO forum members!! :dblthumb2:

-In regards to the 'Safety/safeness' point, I'd like to add the following:

Cheaper is not always better, its more of a caveat emptor thing. You must look at tread and what the tire is used for. I would use discount tire or the company "tire rack" to see what you need. You also need to read the measure on the tire and add that in too. Safety is your number one priority while in an automobile. You also have to consider that a more expensive tire will need to be built stronger because it is going to be used for faster speeds. Not all tires are alike. If you are able to install them by all means do it. If you want somebody else to, I reccomend town fair tire.

And I never see these guys logged in....strange!!

Note the similarity in formats...

Hello all,

Need to know how to and what kind of equipment and machine is used to clean carpet and seats of an auto detail? What products are used? Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks a lot,
George

Go to Costco. Make sure you compare tires to make sure that you are getting prices for the exact tire.

Also remember the only thing that touched the road is a tire. Be smart get the best tire you can afford.

Like George Brown, our new member Steve has an e-mail address that goes to a automotive website that finances and sells wheels.
