Im a little bit confused about what a compound really is.

When detailing a car, do you always start by swirl remover, polishing, sealer and then wax?

Anyone can help me out ?

thanks

Hey

thanks for the links.

I was actually reading the first one right now. So if your planning on doing some paint correction and the car your working on is not in bad shape you can jump meg 105 ? just do a pass with meg 205 ?

thanks again

First you would wash
Next you would usually clay the vehicle
Depending on the condition of the paint you would start by doing a test spot with the polish/pad that you think is best suited. Depending on how the test spot comes out you either continue with the rest of the car or change to a more aggresive polish.
Depending on how aggressive of a polish you ended up using you next move to a less aggressive polish untill you have reached the gloss you desire. A popular choice for the final polish is Menzerna PO85RD with a blue or black LC pad.
After your car has been corrected and polished you should either use a prewax cleaner or wash the car to remove any oils that were left by the polish.
Next you may seal or wax the car. If you seal the car then after allowing it to cure you may add a layer of wax.

thanks!!

I've been reading a lot on the forum but there is so much information! its crazy!!

thank you again!

I look at it this was ... simplicity !

polishes --- abrasive pastes used to correct, they come in light (finishing) to heavy (compounds) and most like the newest calling swirl removers.
