what is everyone doing to prepare for Sandy ?

Not too much really...........

  1. Cleaning out the gutters
  2. Cars in the garage
  3. Putting things away
  4. Gas for the generator
  5. Sump pump plugged in just in case
  6. 45 on the dresser
We're North of where it's "supposed" to hit land but anything could happen, it's 3 days away...

A .45 on the dresser? Oh my! LOL Ya think somebody might be lookin to snatch the Z06, for a fast trip inland?

Do cover all the bases buddy! And hopefully a nice glass of Vino, and the fireplace lit.
Hope it passes by you. Mark

No gasoline in the house. I have a plastic container box outside the shed where it's all kept...

Thanks Mark.....

Batteries, soup, dried foods, charged my telephone and Kindle so I could read by lantern light, battened down the windows, doors, and anything that could fly around, and parked my car where it wouldn't be under a falling tree or tree branch. Not much else you can do. The waiting is the worst part of it.

If anybody needs a good flashlight I reccomend the maglite xl50. Its constructed on aircraft aluminum and is led. on 20 percent powet, the battery lasts 10,000 hours. It can also store a second bulb in the butcap. its around 20 dollars at home improvement stores

I work at a Lowes in central Pennsylvania and the past couple days have been very interesting to say the least.

i live in staten island about 5 blocks from the beach. i dont have a garage so had to jack my mustang up and put it on cinderblocks as well as covering my exhaust pipes. last year my block was flooded with over 5 feet of water.

I live in Central PA too and have seen tons of cars going down I-83 with generators sticking out of the trunks. Not really seeing much more than a little rain so far. Hoping for the best cause I'm not prepared for the worst. Cell phone is charged up and I have a crank powered LED lantern with a built in cell phone charger and radio.

We have been sold out of generators since Thursday our store has a waiting list of 200 people. Not to sure how many we will get in.

Last year my area got hit hard from tropical storm lee so a lot of people are preparing for the worst.

Wow. As of this morning, the storm surge in your area is equivalent to last years surge levels...and at the time of the broadcast, the storm center is still 350 miles out.

11 foot surge is a moderate guesstimate.

You guys seem to be in for a ride.
Good luck and God bless.

i was wondering if the autogeek crew was able to fly out on time.

chris<pixelmonkey>:D

Yes Max went out already, Jason, Mike, Bobby and Nick landed yesterday and I am heading out tomorrow.

Batteries, Ice and a siphon/buckets for manually pumping water from the sump.

Limbering up, just in case I need to bend over and kiss my butt goodbye.

Crazy. One would think that the ship would have gone into safe harbor in Pitcairn Island or something equally out of harm's way.

Stupid thing is that it wasn't a historical ship in the naval sense.
Seems that a material object had more value than human life.

Praying for the rescuers and their families.
