Good Morning All. I want to go mobile with my detail company and I need some advice. I am looking at a trailer and I don't what I may need to get to hold all the equipment that is needed. I am also looking to see if anyone knows how much of a water tank would I need as well as any other equipment. I appreciate any information that can be given to help me grow my business. I thank you in advance. Have a great day.

Instead of a large trailer and water tank have you thought of starting out going rinse-less first? This will get you up and going quickly with the smallest investment. Here is an example of an easy method. It would be simple to clay while your doing this and follow up with a polish. I have this exact package on my website as my "$69 Mobile Express Detail" and i do it out of the back of my Mazda Speed.

I may be slow, but I do poor work.

In my opinion, going rinseless is the way to go. Easier to manage and you dont have to lug around huge weight of water if you have no access to your customer's water source. However there are downsides.

I do encounter customer's car being so dirty, it is as if it has just went thru a rally. This is where rinseless is not recommended. if this happens I would explain to the customer if there is no water source that I would bring their car to the nearest car wash center to get it wash. However, not all will agree and thus I had to go ahead with the rinseless and making more micro scratches along the way.

However if u still insist in having a water source. I have a friend who bought a 50 gallon drum and it was sufficient for him to wash about 4-5 cars(rought estimation). the 50 gallon drum is linked to a waterjet that has a pump feature.
