What is the average time it takes you guys to compound with a DA?

I do a black Viper for a customer and I hand polished those areas by the vent with a foam applicator pad.

You might be able to hit that tight area with a 3" DAMF pad on a 2 7/8" Backing Plate with UC

You could always make yourself a 2" "Hernandez Polisher". I like the latest rendition with the shorter extension.

I saw it down at Meguiar's. It worked quite well:

He used a Griot's 3" machine, but it can be done on a PC with exactly the same process and materials.

You can also do it simply with the DA to Rotary Adapter, a Rotary Extension and a 2 7/8" rotary BP

Thanks for the info guys, the issue is those scratches in there are deep, might be best left to a pro. I've got a friend here in town who is an expert and he can come by one day and look at it, but I might try knocking them down a bit by hand and see what it looks like.

So just finished compounding everything, I don't know how many hours I have in it but I'd guess at least 6 or more. Anyway I decided not to skimp and put the car up on the lift and looked at the bumpers. I noticed when I looked at the rear facia behind the wheel that it was so badly oranged peeled or whatever you couldn't even make out defined shapes, just a blurry object :nomore:

So I decieded to hit it with my UC and see what would happen, here are the results. Here is the before, notice the light is just one big blob, no definition at all, yikes:

And here was after making several passes with UC, wow what a difference. I got a little nuts and even did really low areas you can't see unless you are down on your knees, but this forum has turned me into some kind of OCD kook when it comes to cleaning, thanks a lot Autogeek lol:

Here is a short vid I took of a side by side:

I still now have to go back and use UP on every panel but the hood, then wax, so still a lot of work but the results are making me feel a little better about it. Still have to attacks RIDS at some point in the future...

Nice results!

Seeing how well UC worked, that should show folks that because some consider it is "just" an OTC product...that it works and works well.
