what is the best finishing polish "hands down" in your opinion???

Apex detailing done a video using only hand cream and an aggressive pad, it did cut. Pads are arguably more important according to that test/video. Which makes sense to me.

I was just trying to delete my replies
I thought this was an old thread.

I have trouble with megs polish, seems to leave something on the paint.

I have to use a mix of 2/3rds old fashioned windex and 1/3 acetone as a panel wipe after it.

I have had good luck with Blackfire primer polish, finishes well behind Griots Boss fast correcting cream.

I’m going to say Scholls S30+. Have only used a couple finishing polishes though but this just seemed to finish the best on my soft black paint. This with an Orange SDO pad took care of minor swirls for me and finished amazingly.

S40 for pure jeweling, but I find the finish on S40 and S30 to be just as good as one another, with S30 having a bit more bite about equal to Megs 205. S40 is that next level that is just a step I can’t justify.

Thread resurrect...

Everyones opinions still hold?

Probably not.

I like Jescar Micro Polish, and Optimum Hyper Polish these days.

If I don't completely off my stock of the new Rupes polishes, the Uno Pure is pretty good.

Menzerna's green line just arrived in Canada. I wonder if they are any different..i was thinking of asking my main distributor. He's a big fan of FG400.

Functions like the original without the smell.

I recently used some 3D HD Polish+ that I had sitting around unused from a while back and have absolutely fallen in love with its gloss, work time, and easy wipe off. Not in love with the fact that it has been discontinued. I emailed 3D and they recommended the ACA 520 or AAT 502 products as substitutes. Probably going to try the AAT 502 b/c of the price (i.e. $29.99/qt.

Also gave Meg’s m210 a run on a few panels recently, but I was not impressed with it. Wasn’t easy to wipe off and was not strong enough to remove light wash marring that accumulated since my car’s last annual polish. I really do think this is a product specifically catered to softer clears, as Meg’s frequently referenced in their videos and forum posts about the product. I would not recommend m210 for medium to hard clears based on my experience thus far. Another thing I noticed was that my Duragloss coating did not bond properly on the panels I used 210 on, in spite of using DG’s Squeaky Clean cleaner before application of the coating and letting the car cure overnight in the garage. Not sure what went wrong; heavy fillers/oils, possibly?

I've run into situations where ACA520 left marring, where AAT502 didn't. I would say AAT502 would be the finest dedicated polish they currently offer. 3D ONE has also left marring in those situations.

I would love to see 3D come out with a polish that has the same abilities as Speed, cut, ease of removal, etc without the protection element for those times I want to follow with something other than a wax/sealant

That might well be AAT 502, I just haven’t tried it yet

He might not want to overstep with a 3D tutorial here, but then again I have (often) been wrong in the past.............. ;)

What I’m actually going to do is put my grudge aside and order some BOSS cremes

Why ask someone to reinvent the wheel

I am certain that if we are patient, amazing things will come out of 3D

Their stuff is already awesome in my opinion, at least what I have tried

I want to think that Mike has a very strong sense of what the enthusiast market wants in their product lines and I have to think he will keep us in mind

Fingers crossed

For me, it’s Meguiars M205. I’ve always had great results with it. It’s top of the line in my book.

That's the trade secret oils. Personally, I find Meguiars polishes to be harder to use and remove than the Griots yellow bottle stuff and the Boss stuff is probably better than that.

I had a chart where 3D said that Speed was 10% Cut, 20% Polish, and 70% wax.

I had a chart where 3D said that Speed was 10% Cut, 20% Polish, and 70% wax.

I wonder how those percentages would stack up against One

Obviously it doesn’t have wax but a chart for just 3D stuff would be awesome

I still think the wax element is partially what makes Speed so easy to remove and why it cycles forever
