I can't stand going to the theaters anymore. Each time = WANTS TO PUNCH SOMEONE IN THE THROAT. Way too many inconsiderate d-bags at the movies.

On another note, I just watched "Homefront" w/ Jason Stathom.
Not Oscar material by any stretch, but boy does he kick some ass in this movie.

My favorite scene? When the two guys F with him at a gas station.

Gravity was the last movie I watched as well. I have a 1080P projector and it was on Blu-Ray - absolutely stunning on the huge screen! If you are a Sandra Bullock fan this is for you as it is a tour de force performance in intensity. If you are not a Bullock fan forget the movie entirely as she is the only actor in it (the only other person you see, George Clooney, makes what amounts to little more than a cameo appearance).

What do you guys think of Gravity?

I thought it was ok. Not as good as everyone said. What pulled me out from the picture was the series of misfortune; too many, too soon.

And at the end, I think fading to white would have been better. That way we get to fill in the blank (open to interpretation) instead of what was fed to us.

As I said before, you really have to be a Bullock fan to enjoy this movie. She was the whole thing (well, 95% for sure) and you have to get into her acting and style to appreciate her role. The movie itself was full of intensity but it had to be portrayed properly and here is where a lessor actor might have failed. The special effects were pretty good too.

Having said all this, although I can appreciate what Bullock, the director and the camera crew did, I like to have more characters in a motion picture, especially at different points in the story because interaction between people is more compelling than interaction with oneself or even with situations and elements (Cast Away may have been an exception).

As such, I think "Gravity" will not be remembered in film history in the same way as the "Alien" movies, eg, with Sigourney Weaver, which have become classics. Weaver acted alone for a big chunk of the films and the intensity was at least the equal of Gravity, but the fact that her crew members in each movie had stories of their own and left her alone by dying off one by one made the solitude she experienced that much more dramatic. She had to fight non-human elements and situations alone too but the stories of others had already been told. Still, enjoying Gravity on a 110" projector screen in 1080P (and surround sound) is a grand experience.
