What is this from ?

This is a 2000 jeep grand Cherokee white in color . It is my personal vehicle tday I decided to start the paint correction process . I washed , iron x soaped , and clayed. After the claying I noticed the paint was cloudy looking . I used megs mild clay the blue one . Here's a pic. I've never seen this happen to an paint I've clayed . Here's a pic

After the steps you did perform you will see the true condition of the paint; and there you are. How did it happen? Well the vehicle is 13 years old so why not chalk it up to age and move forward to the polishing step?

Looks like your typical dull, swirled paint... unless I am missing something in the pic?

Easily fixed with some buffing.

Waterspots would be my guess.
New River Valley has high mineral content water, especially limestone.

How ugly was your clay after a few passes?

Visually, I can tell the paint is likely etched in this instance but I won't know till I get the surface clean. The first step is to wash or wipe the finish, in this instance I'm going to repeat wiping process I used on the Mercedes-Benz with a spray detailer.

After wiping the paint clean, there are water spot imprints remaining in the paint.

Its not watwr deposit. The clay was fairly clean .

I've never used the mild blue clay.
Since finding AGO, I only use the Speed Clay.
I hyper lube the paint.
Speed clay leaves behind a film if allowed to dry on the paint. I remove all spent clay lube as I progress around the vehicle.

You have truly piqued my curiosity.

My silver 02 has Early Stage CC failure on the hood and door handles. I am the only one who sees it, even while attempting to show it to others. But it is very uniform in nature. Can't capture it with either 3G, 4G, 5G, or iPad.

Beginning Clearcoat Failure

Since I have not been able to find a similar car with the beginning of clear coat failure to photograph for the AG forum, and because this is a very useful picture for helping people diagnose what type of problem they're having with their car's clear coat I've added to the Clearcoat Failure Photo Gallery Archive here on AG but have given proper credit to where I obtained the photograph.

Due credit where due credit is due.... which more people would do this...

I would buff a 2x2 foot section to see if that cleans it up.

It cleaned up . I've done half the jeep have the other half to finish tomorrow . I guess its time to get a 3inch gg buffer now can't get to all the small curves . The correction in thos areas could be better
