My car is parked outside 24/7 and every other day I get these yellow lines on my hood. My car is parked by a tree but not under the tree.

What are these yellow lines on my hood? Here is a picture of the line I am talking about but remember there are at least 4 or 5 of these lines. Please ignore the dust around the yellow line.

They look like pollen that collects together because of the dew overnight. I'm assuming they wipe off?

I get orange lines and dots that are hardened. I believe its pollen that settles on the hood which then collects with dew and rain which settles into drops then dries.

Washing doesn't remove it. I need clay or a gentle fingernail. Happens all spring and summer.

Yeah thats what I thought too but I just wanted to make sure. I have to wash my car to remove them.

I get those every spring and it annoys the hell out of me since I have a black car. They do, however, wipe off.

Setec, small yellow dots, almost perfectly round, are normally bee "poop".
Although, they eat pollen ha, so I suppose it's somewhat similar...

Those spots bugged me (no pun intended) for a long time until I found out what they were...

Wow - you learn something new everyday

Are the poops acidic?

It's not big...my friend Jr. has been getting these on her car lately, they are a little sticky, but they seem to come off cleanly with no ill effects. Sort of like a bit of silly string.

Anyway, I thought this came up on another forum years ago and it was bee poop, because they eat pollen, and poop out yellow stuff. If it's some sort of bird stuff, it sure comes off easier and doesn't etch.
