Brand new....weeks old 2015 GMC Sierra Carbon Edition truck. I just washed off the salt, road grime and dirt to find these marks all over the vehicle finish.

They are almost everywhere. Before I visit the dealership and lose my marbles....I look to you all for advice here.

Please tell me what you think this is. Im speaking of the tiny rust spots. In some pics they are tough to see so I picked the best ones I could. The third pic in is the pass. side mirror but it wouldn't rotate 90 deg.

Tell me what you think it is plus what you think I should do about it.

Looks like contamination to me.......easily corrected IMHO.

A good wash( which you have done by your description) then Iron-x and then a good claying session, then a quick polish and protection should clear it all up.

Don't panic! deep breathes.....

This is where my head is at exactly.

Fallout, brake dust...etc...accumulating on paint surface right?

This is what I am dealing with?

I plan on a lil Iron X and some wax after!
That should fix it.

Man you got this!

I know it's a new truck.......don't panic! You got it! fix it and show us how it's done!

Happens to every vehicle, but is much more noticable on silver and white paints. Wash it well, hit it with some Iron-x and follow up with a clay bar. You may need to do a quick polish afterwards, but should look good (if not better) than new!

Thanks fellas.

I was initially concerned that I had pinholes in my clear....probably an overreaction on my part from this long cold winter and being removed from detailing for so long!

I was thinking more contamination though due to the spots on the mirrors. Those are plastic underneath so no way that could be rust from a body panel.

I've been in your shoes before.......over reaction is normal (for us ocd folks) but don't sweat it.

jumping out into the ozone is normal......sometimes you need a little help back to earth...that's what this forum is all about.....helping!

welcome back to earth and good luck with the new truck......looking forward to pics of the finished product!:dblthumb2:

haha SO TRUE!

Ill take a few shots of the Iron X and of course a finished pic or two.

Thanks again!

That is what happen when you at AGF. You start to develop a detailer's eyes :D
