WHAT is up with drivers lately???????

I have front and rear facing dash cams in both our vehicles for a reason.

This is something I keep forgetting to do. I just can't seem to find the time to have someone do this for me.

As far as the drivers go, Chicago/midwest drivers are generally terrible in my opinion. There's an accident on I-290 every single day I commute to the city. I can't begin to describe how many people are on their cell phones talking, looking at their cell phones or touching their dash mounted cell phones. It's really irritating. These are the same people that walk and stare at their phones...

Apparently there are still some people
that automatically become arseholes
whenever/while they are driving cars.

Arseholes driving cars can make
for the worst kind of arseholes.

Along with all the "Me first" driving in Phoenix the recent plague is to drive the wrong way on the Interstates, freeways etc. Seems to happen quite frequently the last few years.

I don't notice any difference. People drive like they always have - most well; some like they're mentally somewhere else; and a few like total arses.

You guys are just getting old, seen the same stuff too many times and the world bothers you more now.

These complaints are now a thing of the past.. Step up to future, step into a new Cadillac, and never have to worry about the other morons on the road. Let the Caddy drive you while you relax in complete comfort & luxury.

...I made a pretty good commercial there, didn’t I?lol.

OMG people just flat out can't drive anymore!!!!!!!

I have a 3.0 mile commute to work. That's it. You think, hey, that's awesome! What could go wrong in 3 miles?

I'll tell you.... PEOPLE!!!!!!

In the timeframe of about a week, I've had 2 different drivers come to a complete stop in the road for no apparent reason!!!!!!!!!! Just stop!
And then there's the same drivers and others doing 15 under the speed limit!!!!!

Seriously, if you are that afraid then perhaps you should not be driving.

ARGH!

Amen to that!! Lately I'm constantly getting behind people going way under the speed limit. I would really like someone to explain to me how one lane of traffic merging onto a four lane highway can bring all four lanes to a complete stop. Lastly it seems more and more drivers seem to think when they are sitting at a red light waiting to turn left and the light turns green both ways they get to go first!! Along with that one is the idiot in front of you going straight on a green light sits there and waits for the car coming the other way turning left to go. Then there is the whole yielding to traffic coming off the highway when you're on the service road.

And they wonder why people get road rage!!!

I DON'T expect people to speed. I admit I do. So if you drive the speed limit, fine. I respect that.
But you can't even do the speed limit in a 35 mph zone??????? Come on!!!!!!!!

OH! I had yet another car stopped in the middle of the road today. Now I will say they were from out of town (a MASS plate) but there were 2 BIG parking lots on either side of the road where they had stopped!!!!!! :bash:

BTW- I don't think it's one area... it's the whole country that drives bad!!!!!

^ This! ^ My wife and I have caught a lot of stupid and odd stuff on our “SYKA BLYAT” cams; tire store pickup truck losing a load, road ragers, high school kids falling on sidewalk ice, meteorites (shooting stars), lots of inattentive drivers, pedestrian hit by car...

Go watch Russian dash cam videos on YouTube and you’ll learn why we call them “SYKA BLYAT” cams. ;)

Texting drivers.

The bane of my driving experience.

I can't even begin to count how many young women I've honked at after sitting through a traffic light....

Nah. It’s the whole world. I am in the Philippines and until i saw this thread, i thought these things happen in this country only.
1) slow drivers hogging the left lane
2) trucks/buses driving in the middle and left lanes
3) you try to keep a safe distance from the car in front, then an a-hole overtakes and enters in front of me so i have to slow down to gain safe distance again
4) cars entering the freeway automatically goes to the left lane (this is the worst in my opinion)
5) cars driving in the line, not on the lane (i think they are boxing out other cars so no one overtakes them)
6) does not use turn signals
7) uses high beam in a busy street
8) turns hazard lights on in poor visibility weather
9) people do not know how to engine brake. Instead they step on the gas then on the brake then on the gas again then on the brake again (this drives me nuts)

Complete jungle

Got rear ended on my motorcycle in Baton Rouge on I-12. Getting dark, good ol boy has no lights on in a black pick-up truck, fishing for something under the dash, BSing with his friend...

Lucky to be alive!

Wow, you are lucky! Thank goodness!

It's rare that I push the envelope much in my older age anymore, and commonly find that because I often refuse to exceed speed limits on any street or road-highway, I always seem to have tailgaters on my butt and I hate this.

I dislike the idea of needing to speed up to satisfy the speed thirsty, and then compromise my own personal safety in the process.

I live next to Boston. It sometimes takes me 1 1/2 hours to go 16 miles on the commute home. And that's at 3:00 pm.

Cell phones have a lot to do with bad drivers too

they lowered the speed limit to 20mph in my town everywhere except the state highway roads

I thought about posting up all the videos I have from my rear facing camera showing how many times people are looking down at their phones and almost hit me from the back. I'd likely crash YouTube with all the storage I'd need. It's frightening. Funny thing is until I started reviewing the videos I realized that it happens so often without my real-time even knowing it as I don't tend to stare in the rear view mirror.

Put a nice shiny chrome hitch in your receiver... they back off real quick!
