What is your favorite wheel cleaner & tire dressing?

Poorboy's Spray & Rinse for tough jobs
D103 for maintenance cleaning and tires

Still trying to find the perfect dressing. I've used Cg Silk Shine, VRP, black onyx and Megs endurance gel and seem to have issues with uniformity on the tires but I feel it's either the condition of the tires or the lack of finding the right applicator for the job.

Wheel Cleaner: Sonax Full Effect or Auto Finesse Iron Out.
Tire Dressing: PERL, Tuffshine, or Wolfgang.

Did you follow directions to a tee? I've seen that happen after application onto a hot rim. I've used pb spray and rinse for every job I encounter with caked on brake dust and have never had issues. Make sure the wheel is cool and you flush or dilute the area sprayed with a higher ph substance like car shampoo to make sure all product has been removed.

The rim was cool. The temperature outside was in the 70's, F. I did follow directions. After I rinsed it, there were milky white streaks on it, that later became what you see in the pics.
I couldn't see the damage until right after I rinsed the wheel, and then it was clear that damage was done. The damage was evident immediately after I rinsed with water, and it was pretty dramatic. It wasn't like I let the product sit on it for hours.

Also, it DIDN'T remove the baked on brake dust. It damaged the clearcoat first.
I used it the same way on black powder coated wheels, which might have bleached them a little, but it polished out to look like new. The wheels were so dirty it is hard to say for sure on the black ones, but they did become more gray after cleaning.

That sucks man. Hate to hear that.

All the megs tire products I've used, last a decent amount of time, but SLING like crazy.

How much dressing are you using?

Ive found, using many different dressings over the years, that it isnt the product that produces sling, but rather the amount of dressing the tire has left on it. With most of that sling emanating from the outermost tread toward the curb as shown below in the quick picture i modified

When i successfully use enough dressing for the desired level of protection and shine, WHILE making sure residue was NOT sitting in this tread, I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH SLING.

Definitely something to consider tinkering with.

I have never had an issue with sling from ant product I have used, be it liquid or gel. I always put just enough on the sides and stay AWAY from the tread. Tire dressing on the tread will compromised grip, and that is a serious safety issue.

By the way, for looks, I like Griot's Garage Rubber dressing. I like it because it looks like a nice fresh tire, for a more Concours look. For more economy, I like Opti Bond right now.
For years I had used Meguiar's #40, because it leaves a nice rich black sheen, but not a shine, and looks good for 3 weeks.

I used Meg's Endurance before, but don't like how shiny it is.

I have used Formula 303 Aerospace Protectant, and l like the look, but it doesn't last. It seems to come off with just one wash, or the rain. It's great for interiors, though.

How long does Endurance last?

Which do you guys think is better?

OptiBond or Endurance?

Endurance lasted me 4-6 weeks.

However, I was using the Endurance gel, which they don't seem to make anymore.
Now Meg's makes a Tire and Trim Gel, which I think would be the comparable product.
Meguiars Tire & Trim Gel, tire dressing, trim dressing
I have only used the Endurance gel.
$27/32 oz.

Opti Bond Tire gel is $35.99 for 128 ounces, so it's less than 1/3 the price.
Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel, Tire gel protectant, OPT Tire Dressing Gel, protect tires, optibond tire gel
The Opti Bond lasts about 3 weeks
If I was trying to make money, the Opti Bond is by far the better choice.

If you want something that is long lasting, you will get the Tuf Shine, which lasts months.
TUF SHINE Tire Appearance Kit, tuf shine tire dressing, permanent tire shine, permanent tire sealant
TUF SHINE Tire Clearcoat
