Wondering what sort of lighting I can use to show good pics of swirl makes and other blemishes on paint. I have one of those craftsman halogen lamps and I used it in the garage but I couldn't get the angle right or something. Is their something else that would work better without costing to much right now.

look for the handheld Brinkmann Dual Xenon Flashlamp.

i have a sun gun and a brinkman sun gun is good but turns off every 30secs its preset from the factory that way the brinkman dual xenon has two bulbs you can use one bulb or both bulbs and it lasts over an hour its good to see imperfections and i use it to check coverage when i paint, plus you cant beat the 40.00price tage on the brinkman, sun guns going on ebay soon way over rated...

Harbor frieght has a nice LED light I really want to pick up. The Brinkman is also on my list. Right now I use an LED Headlamp (has a strap that wraps around your head), 1000 watt Halogens and the sun.

Are metal halide bulbs better the halogens?? If so, can you switch the bulbs in a 1000 watt halogen to halide bulbs?
