Hi AG Peeps. Happy new year!

Ive been detailing for a year now (as a hobby).I want to purchase a buffing machine since a lot of people are asking me if i can detail their cars and i think it will make my hobby a lot easier alsoHonestly dont have much experience when it comes to machine polishing but i thing buying one would improve my skills. I just borrow my friend's makita polisher once in a while but hes going abroad soon. Some people have 2 machines(1 for correcting and 1 for minor jobs).i can only afford 1 machine.

Just want to know which machine will fit my needs:
Makita 9227c - (can i also use this just for light cleaning ,glazing and waxing?)
UDM
PC

Thanks Guys

if you are buying one machine i would go with the flex.

:iagree: Flex XC 3401 VRG (between a Rotary and a PC)

I'll always have a PC or UDM around for the additional uses on carpet/upholstery. If you're not concerned about those uses then I'd go Flex for paint.

you're a newbie, save money and get the porter cable or ultimate detailing machine bundle, get the flex after you've gained some experience, then a rotary if you're completely serious about detailing.

FLEX or PC - just so you know-there is no benefit waxing a vehicle with a buffer other then it may save a little time. Buffers are for paint correction mainly. I mentioned this because alot of new people are confused about this.

Go Flex. I have my PC, it's what broke me into the hobby. I use it a lot, but as I have learned more and more, I feel I'm ready for the Flex. My PC will still be with me for what I need it for, but I think the Flex will take me a little further into the paint correction areas I haven't been in yet

Thanks to all who replied. You guys are right.Rotary might be too risky for beginners.

What polish( for light swirls) can you suggest for PC or UDM?

I have a udm and am a beginer with machine polishing also, i tried xmt line to start and got ok results, but since reading these forums i'm ordering menzerna sip and 106.

Goodluck.Hope you can give us a feedback.Heard that it takes so long to work on menzerna using a pc/udm.
