What material are the Z71 door siill plates?

Maybe for the pros? The factory metal Z71 door sill plate inlays on the Silverado trucks. Sorry I don't have a pic, but figure you know what I mean. My guess is SS? I have the same ones only ZR2. You look at them and the scratch. I just want to keep them looking decent. I know they are going to get abused. I have been using BF AIO so far with decent success. I doubt they are aluminum. Anything better I could be using that would be safe?

You are correct they are SS, and honestly i think you would have to put a clear bra type material on it

or just polish it regularly, the SS insert scratches so easily its almost a no win situation.

licensed Chevy Silverado “Door Sill Protectors”.
-They’re not only easily installed, but also easily
removed so the SS door sill inlays can be cleaned.

[I use stuff like Bar Keeper’s Friend (liquid; low
abrasive); or Simichrome; for that cleaning task.]
