I tried 151 for the first time and I was quite happy with it's cleaning ability. I wish I could get more cut though, while still getting a good finish. I used a black hex-logic pad to apply it.

What pad do you guys use to get some cut with D151 without introducing DA haze?

I recently used it on a new focus st. Although its a "1 step" i used orange and white and it poliched up great.

Yep, I too usually end up with either Orange or Whites. Always do a test spot to see.

I've used it with MF pads on harder paint with good results. I usually use a polishing/heavy polishing pad, however.

I will agree with others, let the paint tell you what pad to use. If you are having hazing issues then change up the pad and or slow down the speed of the machine.

Thanks guys, I wish this was eaiser.

Last time I did this with FG400 I did a test spot, but still had haze issues that I didn't see until I was done with my car. I was disappointed to say the least.

Has anybody tried using Microfiber Polishing pads with AIO's. In this case D151.

I am going to take a shot at it since I have a good number of them and might as well put them to use.

The secret to using a one-step cleaner/wax is to use the softest pad you can get away with so you don't leave micro-marring and the only way to figure out what the softest pad you can get away with is by as other's have said.... do a Test Spot.

If you're going to work on BLACK paint or a very dark color, be sure to inspect the results of your test spot in very bright light and try to test on a horizontal panel like the hood or the trunk lid and then get up high over the test to look down.

This recent detail job I did and the article I wrote from it has a lot of good info.... talks about the issue with micro-marring on black paint when using one-steps and a fast two-step approach to consider instead.

Remember fibers can act as a type of abrasive. This means you can get extra cut from them but extra cut means you can have a micro-marring issue.

Best test is on black paint.

LOL Hernandez ;)

I have seen videos with the Meguiar's team using D151 with a rotary and a wool pad. I don't see why it would not work on a microfiber pad.

I have used it with orange and white pads with good results. I have never tried a yellow pad but I am guessing it would work too.
