What products/brands should Autogeek carry in 2016?

Pretty hard to compete against The Home Depot and Lowe's on that stuff. And I can say that with some confidence since The Home Depot acquired the company I work for 6 months ago. I can sell all that stuff now, and no way can they get the prices of an $85 Billion dollar company. Or deal with shipping that kind of stuff economically. People already b***h about shipping costs on the products they carry. Imagine trying to ship a work platform or led lighting etc. when you can just go down the street and buy it for less at a big box store.

Lmao. That's so true.👆🏽

These carpet and upholstery cleaners are highly concentrated and work great! I think if auto geek would carry this it would really fill a void in the interior cleaning category. The full spectrum is Highly concentrated, prevents resoiling, no need to rinse, it encapsulates dirt and saves time for professionals.

I would like to have one of those Rupes carts.

My advice to AG is to be very selective. There are a lot of brands out there which are knocking it out fast and cheap. There is little attention paid to regulatory/legal affairs and one might even query whether suitable insurances are even in place. So I would want to be making certain that and new brand has real substance and is not merely built on marketing and a load of fans who are incentivised to give publicity.

For those recommending the AMMO brand, may I ask why?

I am a fan of Larry Kosilla, subscribe to his youtube channel, and have exchanged a couple emails with him.
I do think what he is doing with his brand of products is great for him and his business.
Maybe even making his products available for public purchase is a nice gesture.

The thing is, how do you really know:
- What the ingredients to the products are?
- Are they actually any better than the fantastic products already offered here at AutoGeek.
- If they are really worth the high price tag?
- Etc?

Again, I am a fan of Larry Kosilla.
I don't like what I have seen from other auto detailers that I like and learn from, where their videos now are all about selling their own product, more than teaching and offering useful information.
I really hope Larry does not end up going down this road.

The auto detail products market is already crowded, and growing.
The last thing the auto detail world needs is more brand names, and more lines of products from new brand names to the industry.

Your dollars count.
I know I want my dollars supporting those that have a history and dedication to product research, testing, and proving themselves in the real world.

^^^^ I'll go along with the above post ^^^^

Though I prefer Mike's videos and style.

Sorry to sound like a suck up but it is what it is.

- Microfiber Madness: for me, they are the best MFs on the market. However, since Cobra is a in-house-brand with good MFs and since I think this is a very high-margin product I can understand why AG does not need / want such a competitor;
- Dr. Leather: it specialises in leather (who would have thought?!) and is quite nice;
- Mesto sprayers: very high quality German sprayers, foamers, etc.;
- Gyeon: nice brand. However, it overlaps (a lot) with CarPro and that is a big downside;
- there are a lot of boutique brands that probably don't have the necessary turnover for a big organisation such as AG. I can think of Kamikaze, Zymöl, Swissvax, Victoria, etc.

I only wish AG had a similar site in Europe since the shipping, duties, etc. almost always make me shop somewhere else: all you american shoppers should be very grateful for such an online vendor! :dblthumb2:

Ask Larry for the MSDS, this is no different than say Meguiar's.

Does it matter? if they are actually better? They are options. People like options.

Is Blackfire worth the high pricetag? How about Wolfgang?

ETC ETC.

With that said it is my understanding that Larry wants to keep his products close and be the only distributor for them.

AG needs an 800+ GSM and 1000+ GSM Korean microfiber towel. Love them for drying.

im not sure what company but maybe like some more measuring (cups?not sure what they are called ) instead of the blue 1 oz. maybe like one that holds up to 5 oz. so i don't have to fill and dump fill and dump. :p .. and more microfibers! A Lot More!

Here is one that no one has probably heard about. Doubtful you can get it, they seem to want to stay with dealerships only. Quantum paint coating. The reason I found AG was because my 2010 came with it new....didn't have an option figured it was a rip off. This stuff took 18 months of weekly tunnel washes and never showed a single scratch or swirl. After 18 months of that abuse it finally started wearing off. I would love it if y'all could get a sample from them and try it if they are interested in expanding their market share. Made right here in Texas USA. I believe I still have the owners contact info.

I hear what he's saying too.

That's actually one of the strategies taken these days, to come out with a new product line.

That is one of the reasons I tend to stick to the big guys like Megs and Menz. The market has reached a point of saturation, and while I think it's great that people are taking the risk, I prefer to defer to the giants.

Sorry I thought this thread was about new products to try. Didn't realize the link would be frowned on.
But it is Floorcaremd brand cleaning supplies. They have been in the game a long time. Their full spectrum carpet cleaner is unmatched and taking the commercial carpet cleaning world by storm right now.
I truly think pros would really appreciate the quality and high mix ratios.

The big guys may seem late to the game on new products, but they do far more testing and dialing in of a product compared to the smaller guys racing to be first to market with something new.

There is something to be said for really that IMO.

Yes, Mesto! Or any handheld foamer by other brands. I have been looking for months for an afforable one to source to Canada. These things will not replace a foam lance but the convenience is next level in my opinion.

Here are some examples I found from my hours of searching in the Korean and European markets. If we can eliminate using a garden hose, why not eliminate a pressure washer too? Of course each has their uses still.

Marolex - Handheld Version

Gloria - Handheld, this brand was mentioned at AG before

Marolex - Modified with compressor. Exactly what I want

Foam-Matic 5P - Bigger size handheld

Born Flavor Foamer

AG - I will remove the videos if it is against forum rules. Please let me know.

More of the Scholl's line as there are next to no places to get any of their stuff in the US. And without even checking, I'm sure shipping a 5 liter size of their polish or compound would be $$$$$$$. Also the rest of their spider pad's! I've read nothing but great things about their polishes, compounds and pads.
