What products/brands should Autogeek carry in 2016?

A larger selection of the 3D pre-labeled empty sprayer bottles. Like the orange cleaner.

Sonax doesn't seem to have a regular spray detailer available here in the U.S., Brilliant Shine Detailer is well into the sealant category. I'd like to see their Turbo Paint Protection spray detailer available for sale here to round out their lineup. Seemed to get great reviews from the guys in Europe and it leaves behind a much slicker surface compared to BSD.

How about Folex?

I think it would be best to stay with car detailing based companies instead of random products [and don't get me wrong, I really like me some Folex] That way the store remains somewhat uniform, and not a confusing sandbox of random products.

I like this idea. I don't know why 3D hasn't earned a spot. They seem to have a hearty lineup of quality detailing products.

Id suggest those plastic drawers/bins to store MF and other towels but I doubt AG would be able to compare with the big name online stores.

A lot of people are loving the Mystery boxes. How about a monthly mystery box of companies wanting to enter AG mixed with a few talked about products from forum.

Zaino blonde towels.

Spotless large tubs of resin

Microfiber madness long list of swabs

Clear Kwazar Mercury Pro + Spray Bottles. They disappeared pretty quickly.

Yeah I can really see AG carrying Zaino towels LOL. They are also highly over rated and expensive.

I'm with the majority of the other posters TRC Korean MF
towels.

Ammo products came into existence because Larry did not like the quality of the products available on the market. I have read many reviews of products like Hydrate that clearly outperform quick waxes in the drying process. It's a unique quality product that you can't find from other manufacturers. For that reason alone I think it would be nice if Autogeek could carry it.

Larry designed some products in the past and removed them from his line because he realized they could not outperform the products of other brands. To me that is a sign of honesty and dedication to his customers. He could have done like everyone else and just say they are the best and make money out of them. Instead he took the high road and removed them. I have a lot of respect for him for doing that.

If he doesn't want to sell through AG I think that is our loss, but I respect his decision.

I agree ammo products are a cut above the rest, and not for anybody wanting to actually make money unless your clientele are the upper tier types and probably not geared towards daily drivers . He looks at paint like human skin and his products reflect the pampering detail style, rather than the set it and forget it crowd.

You can get Folex over the counter at most retail stores. Lowes even has it by the gallon I believe.

The problem with that is my closet Lowes is 45 minutes away. It would just be nice to order it whenever I order from ACC/AG.

Maybe another hardware store locally has it...

They had carried it. I guess it did not sell as much as they liked.

I think you nailed it. They have snappy packaging but nothing about the products impressed me enough to buy them again. I had 7-8 different ones too.

Kind of like Wolf's products. AG carried them and then they were gone. I tried them too, just so so.

To give you a bit more of an insider view, this particular approach is core to our business. We don't sell to end users, before anyone asks! We offer a bespoke service where we design and manufacture products, precisely as brands wish. Admittedly, not every brand goes to this level but we certainly have half a dozen smaller brands who have products manufactured based on very specific performance characteristics which they have previously tested. So in this regard, Larry is not unique. I presume that Ammo does actually contract out to specialists - if not made clear, this is something that they would do well to clarify. The bits and bobs I have read sort of suggest that larry is doing the tinkering himself and, as he is not a chemist, this should put the frighteners into any sensible retailer.
