What products/brands should Autogeek carry in 2016?

I like most of what AG carries but I do look elsewhere for MF towels

Wing Stop. Cajun flavor. LoL

Just kidding.
I would like to see Zymol line of waxes.

It takes two: a chemist and someone who knows what they want that also a lot of people want it too. There is also the marketing aspect which is extremely in the detailing market.

The challenge of smaller ones (like the one in discussion) is costs too high due to low volume which prevents a wholesale price where they can make money but someone who resells it can make money too. They can sell directly but others cannot sell it for a profit.

That is true until you make a deal with a reseller and increase your volume. Larry would profit on both sides doing this: He would get an additional revenue source and he would lover his production costs allowing him to make more profits on the products he sells directly.

If Larry's videos go from offering solid information, to endlessly pimping AMMO products while squeezing in detail information, I will be done with AMMO NYC and will be tuning out Larry.

I really can't think of anything. I am behind the times(or so I was told on MOL), I still use M80, M105-M205. I am partial to Do Do Waxes!

So, keep selling good stuff, Let Mike do his thing and you at AG keep on rockin'!

Yeah DoDo waxes are excellent and the quality is consistently good.

I would like to see a highly concentrated orange based degreaser like MPC orange solv or any other brand. With ratios of 1:128 and 1:64 for light cleaning it makes it very economical.

My suggestions have been
sticking to Professional lines.

Didn't realize this thread was about what your
opinions are regarding any products or Brands.

Bob

Car Brite is not a professional line, it is a production only line that sells garbage out of the back of trucks. Their "best" wax costs $17 a gallon.

Adam's. It's the only brand I use that I have to buy outside of AG, and AG has better sales.

•IMO: You're wrong on so many points.
Here are a few:

-It is a Professional line.
-"Production only" does not mean it's not Professional
-Price doesn't determine "best"
-"Bad-mouthing" a product/Brand
-Deflecting from thread-starter's intent

•There are quite a few products/Brands
that AGO currently carries that I would
never purchase.

-There may be products/Brands that AGO
decides to carry in the future that I would,
or perhaps not would, purchase.
-Of course you have the same options.

•BTW...since I've not heard otherwise:
-I take it you're OK with the Malco Brand?

Bob

I guess the better question is; "who is gonna purchase "Car Brite" products, besides Bob"? Maybe it's not in the best interest for AG. ;)

Furthermore, which AG products would you never buy and why? Thanks!

Groan! Can we please stick to professional lines and not production level crap please?

I was forced to use car Brite when working at a dealer over a decade ago and it is truly cheap crap compared to 3D, Optimum, and AG house brand.

3D AAT is marketed to body shops, a production environments. It's funny that you mention 3D because I have always thought of 3D as their production market and HD as the detail market.

Optimum sells to OEMs for factory finishing, that's how hyper
Polish and compound were born. Yet another production environments.

Several AG polishes utilize menzerna technology, found in many production environments.

I think there's a need to further define a production brand. Also interesting that the blind wax thread I saw a week ago on the sister site had Malco as a top contender.

Some of this type of product will be fine but a lot will be just average at best. You should be aware that some niche brands are nothing more than the 'production' type chemicals packaged into fancy bottles and with fancy marketing. You would be amazed how many people wax lyrical about certain products whilst criticising an identical product from a less 'favoured' brand!

Could not agree more.

As I remember it, 3D was an existing brand, and Tunch came to David B. (former owner of Autopia.org and ACC) to develop a "boutique" brand which became HD.

Optimum sells to OEMs for factory finishing, that's how hyper Polish and compound were born. Yet another production environments.

I think you're inaccurately conflating "OEM" and "production". I think in the context of this thread, "production" is referring to high volume reconditioning, such as at auction houses and the used car depts. of dealers (or used car dealers). These applications use cheap bulk product, where an OEM, which is working on new, full-value cars, are known to use products like Optimum or Menzerna, which carry a premium price.

IMO:
Speaking of what products/Brands AGO
should start carrying in 2016 (and beyond):

Automotive International, Inc./ValuGard has the
goods---both the tangible, and the abstruse! :xyxthumbs:

Bob

Americana products. Their IAT 1500 compound is the best that I have used.

I urge AG to contact Berry Thiel for more info, and try his products.
