What products would you use on this car?

I bought this car last November and have tried a few products but haven't really found anything that stands out as being "The Product" I should use to get that hot wet just freshly waxed and sexy look. Don't get me wrong it looks "OK" but just isn't as good as I'd like it to be.

Your question is actually pretty open ended. The "hot wet just freshly waxed and sexy look" that you desire will depend on the condition of your paint and what you are willing to do to achieve that look. Unfortunately, there really is no magic all-in-one product that will do that for you, despite what you may have seen on those late-night infomercials.
Can you give some more details to the condition of your car (e.g. does it have swirls? Has it been clayed?) What products have you used on the car so far? Are you planning on doing everything by hand or do you plan on using a machine polisher?
 
The car has no swirls (yet) and in the photo it had been clayed followed by a hand applied Turtlewax brand ICE paste wax. But I have also tried Klasse all in one Polish.

I guess I am more interested in what type of product I should use. Because I have been told that carnauba waxes work best for dark colored cars such as red or black But since my car is a bright green color should I use a synthetic or sealant as I have already used or should I be looking at using a true Carnauba wax?
 
It really depends on your personal preference. I personally like sealants on lighter colored (Especially metallics)cars like yours because sealants have that extra sparkle I prefer. I usually save my carnauba waxes for my red Prelude VTEC because they give a deeper muted look.

These are my favorite sealants:

Menzerna FMJ: Not very durable, but it has a unique sparkle I have not seen anywhere else.
Blackfire Wet Diamond: Very durable and gives the car a very wet look. This might be your best bet.
Zaino Z2Pro: The most durable sealant I've encountered. Would add a very nice sparkle to your car. Application and removal is a finicky. Follow instructions to the letter or you'll spend all day trying to wipe it off!

I've used others also and I'm sure others will chime in with their favorites, but these are my favorites.
BTW, you can apply any of these on top of Klasse All-in-One. Klasse AIO is a favorite amongst detailing enthusiasts as a base sealant for other sealants/waxes to go on top of. I would definitely apply Klasse AIO on the car before applying the other sealants I've mentioned. Same goes for waxes.

If you want to stick with a carnauba wax for your car, I would use either Wolfgang Fuzion or S100. If you check around, you'll notice that Fuzion is not exactly cheap, whereas, in my opinion, S100 is probably one of the best carnauba waxes out there, especially if you throw in it's price of only around $15. You can get S100 at any local Harley Davidson dealership. In case you're interested, they also sell a very good paint cleaner. I think it's called S100 Shine Enhancing Cleansing Lotion. I've used it before applying wax and it's really good at cleaning the paint.
 
I can't tell from the pic if the paint is a metallic or not... If it is, then I would use Pinnicle SSII and if it wasn't I would use Liquid Souveran. But if you ask 30 different people, you will probably get 30 different answers. This is where a quote from Mike comes in handy... Find something you like and use it. :D
 
Black Fire Wet Diamond or Ultima topped with 4 Star Spray Wax or Optimum Car Wax. 4 Star and OCW are as easy to apply as a detail spray.
 
DGPS and/or DP MaxWax would be my choice. Both are very shiny and the MaxWax will get the flakes to "pop"
 
I agree with tex MaxWax will really make the flakes pop. It is very economical and one of the best Ive used. I would also reccomend BFWD. It is the best sealant i have ever used. DGPS comes in a close second
 
Ditto!!! I love maxwax! I tried it on my pearlescent orange ride, it makes the flake more prominent, and it still appears very glossy and reflective even at minimal light.
 
Has the car ever been polished? If not, I think the look your wanting can only come from machine polishing. The difference from one wax to another is minimal, even seeing wax vs sealant will take a trained eye (I'd really like to see a good test of a pro "seeing the difference" any way). If you don't have a polisher maybe an AG member who lives near you will be willing to do some polishing with you. Where do you live?

Even if your not seeing swirls, the paint could surely use some refining with a finishing polish. A product like Poorboys PwS or XMT 360 (both of which I love) will give the paint an excellent gloss and leave some protection behind. Following with any of the sealant/wax's suggested above will treat you well on the polished surface. I can vouch for DP Max Wax, Souveran, Fuzion, Klasse twins, Wolfgang DGPS 3.0. (and more), all great products, buy what ever strikes your fancy. I have really been liking Auto Glym HD wax though. It's (relatively) inexpensive, OTC (walmart), looks good, great beading/sheeting and durability is great as well.

As I've recently learned, properly polished paint with no wax/sealant can look much better than any wax/sealant with out polishing. Wax is the "sacrificial barrier" to protect the polished surface.

Just my non-pro opinion based on a very vague question. :xyxthumbs:
