What should I do?

"It contains the "usual suspects" as found in
many, many other window cleaners:
•Water...remainding % of product's volume
•IPA...~5-10%
•And, as a bonus, a little bit of vinegar: ~0.01%"

This sounds like a good mix to put together, for when I might run out of my preferred Glass Cleaners.

Bob, would you say that these are the ingredients that most glass cleaners use?

Thanks!

I always struggled with cleaning windows. Have many "Glass Cleaning" towels, WW and other types. Results were better but not as good as I wanted. Tried the car pro fast glass cloths, the type you wet with distilled water. Have not have any issues since. Just what works for me, maybe not for you.

As many have already suggested, I would invest in some auto detailing specific products. Most will perform just as well if not better than Windex and your investing in a more cost effective solution for your business.

Meguiar's D120 concentrate will yield ~11 gallons of glass cleaner when properly diluted. At $13.99 for 128oz of concentrate that's roughly $.40 per 32 oz of ready to use cleaner vs ~$3.00 for Windex.

I would start with Meguiars and as you build your business you could start exploring other options to for what works best for you.

The important thing is that your customers are happy when you are finished with their cars regardless of what products you use. One added benefit of using the products designed for auto detailing is that most of them have a very pleasant smell which makes it more enjoyable to use them.

One tip I picked up when detailing cars a few years ago is to use some fine grade steel wool (000 or 0000) to clean the glass. Spray a good amount of glass cleaner on the window and then run the steel wool (light pressure) across the glass to remove anything on the window. You could always use a razor blade, but I'm far to clumsy to safely use that technique. I've always had luck using this method with some high quality microfiber towels.
