What should I use for DA unreachable parts of the car?

Mike Phillips taught us to use a 3" backing plate with 6" pads on some areas, you don't get as much cut, but I find it works well to work around some of the harder to reach spots where the big backing plate can slam into the parts. The only bad thing is it accelerates delam on a lot of pads.

What machine, pads and backing plate were you using?
