What Side?

This may sound silly but I've going through all the LIT online, yet no one mentions what side of the mitt you use.
I have a black I think it's rubber side, and a grey more like cloth side.

Is this a clay mitt? If so, then it’s the rubber like side that will touch the surface to pull contaminants.

If that’s a regular wash mitt then there shouldn’t be a side that looks or feels like rubber.

A pic would help.
