what size Surbuff pads to use with my 3401

Hi all,
Was thinking of ordering some Surbuff pads to use with my Flex 3401 and wasn't sure what size to order, the 5.5" or the 6.5"? Anyone have any suggestions?

You will need the 6.5" since the backing plate on the flex is 5.5". This will keep big mistakes from happening ;)
 
Tom do you really want to take the chance with those 5.5" pads?

Not really, but I do prefer the 5.5" pads on the rotary more so than the 6.5" pads. I really like the LC Hydro's with that size. I can't remember the backing plate I was using but the radius of the backing plate is probably 1/4" less than the pad maybe. I like snug, but not too snug, as I know bad things would happen especially seeing how the 3401 likes to walk some on occasion.

I do too when it comes to a PC but with the forced rotation of the Flex it has more then enough power for the 6.5" pads.
 
how good are these pads with the flex.. i have been reading good reviews but would love to see some pics to see what the surbuff pads can do with the flex????
 
I use those wool pads all the time with the flex. You'll need the 6.5s. I love them. I love them on the rotary as well.

I am most likely using a different polish, but it finishes down slp ready alot of times, but of course I always do additinal steps. :)
