I cannot stand this I roll on 24's and am so bad ass I went to a private school crap lol. I found some of my old cd's from back in the day, Wu-Tang 36 Chambers and Forver cd's, Mobb Deep - Infamous, Onyx, Outkast - Atliens, the old Nas, Biggie - Ready to Die etc, lyrical works of art and sick beats, new stuff isn't worthy of being mentioned in this class.

I was finishing some work up and left MTV on, wtf, Nelly has a whole song rapping about his "grillz", somebody else the whole time talking about his caddy on 24's, or they rap in this high pitch voice about how tough they are blah blah.

You gotta be kidding me, thank god for my rock/metal/punk and "old rap" lol.

Most of rap that is played on radio is pure junk. Nelly doesn't know how to rap. His voice makes it funny.
I really like Silk E-fyne - Romeo and Juliet(was a darn good song), Coolio, Luniz and some other rap they played in the days, but right now it mostly R&B which I hate, So I mostly just listen to rock.

Rap has very little musical tallent in my opinion.. Sure they can make rhrymes and all that but they cant play any instraments.... Now a days it is getting tottal rediculas its the same words over and over again. Atleast when it first came out they had something to talk about and they were trying to send a message.

For me, and I am showing my Mature Age, music during my generation, 1950's and 60's was great. As for Rap it rymes with C**p! and I will leave it at That! JoeD

Check out Nas- Hip Hop is Dead and Ghostface Killa- More Fish

Great CD's both got a 4 star (out of 5) or above on Amazon. I hate this "new" wave of hip-hop as well.

I think its pretty rude for one to bash, make fun of, or belittle anothers taste of music. Surfer didn't start this thread to have a "music war", but to simply state a comment. I won't comment on Rock, Oldies, Heavy Metal, etc. It doesn't bother me you don't like what I like.

Either R&B (Jamie Foxx for instance) or Rap, or Jazz. That's all I like.

I used to like a little bit of rap back in the late 80's to 90's due to the cool rythm. Even though I like music for the music, and not the lyrics, rap for the most part turns me off because most of what I hear is gang banging or just plain self promotion.

Everything is so "pop" music today. Even most of the new so called 'rock' bands have a pop type sound. eh.

This is what I hate, old rap as good, I mean listen to an old Wu-Tang cd, or Mobb Deep - Infamous, beats are raw and lyrics are top notch. This new bling bling stuff majorily sucks, and everytime I see some gangster wannabe next to me blasting that crap in his car and dancing in his seat like he has A.D.D.....ughhhhh

Love my rock though, Tool, Perfect Circle, Pennywise, Ill Nino, Blood for Blood etc:righton:. Along with my Metal.

I really don't like the rap/hip hop that is played on the radio. I'm more into the underground artists. Common, Blue Scholars, Gangstarr, and The Roots are some of my favorite artists. Mainstream hip hop is way down on my list. To me, a lot of the mainstream is for middle/high schoolers  . I see a lot of wannabe gangsters in my old high school. It HAS to be the ridiculous rap music. I wish someone could bring back the old school hip hop.

I agree with that both good cd's

I also like Young Jeezy - Thug Motivation 101

I like everything except Country and Death Metal, I dont have a specific type of music I like whatever that sounds good to me that is what i like

mainstream anyhting is going to suck for the most parts...all the best artists are struggling to make payments, and touring like crazy year round, every day is another show in another town basiclaly. those are who i listen to almost exclusively. lots of rock and punk, but mainly reggea/dub like slighty stoopid, pepper, sublime....i could go on all day...oh, going to see pepper on saturday woot woot
