What the hell is it with PMs here?!

Six times today, I tried sending a PM message to another forum member here, tap one key on the keyboard, God knows which, and the message is gone like a fart in a windstorm?
!
God, I totally abhor writing somebody here privately, what is it? Is it me? Or is it this forum's PM methods on this website are flawed?
 
I don't think I've sent 6 PMs since I've been here. What is so private?
 
I've sent a lot of PM's, I've never had one issue or lost message.

Howdy Dave. I just deleted a ton of them, but seems to be more of a personal computer issue than a forum related one, so my apologies to all for ranting.

Darn computers will drive you totally insane, I'll tell you! Problems I am having is not getting PMs, but sending them.

It's all good and you're probably right. I did however lose a post non related to this site or hobby one time. What I do now is if I'm writing a longer detailed post is to save it as a word document and then copy and paste it. The extra step only takes a minute or so. I feel your frustration.
